New’s mother gently placed a hand on his shoulder, trying to soothe him. "Son, go back to your room and rest. I promise I’ll tell you when P’Arm wakes up."

New didn’t respond. He just kept crying, tears streaming down his face. Seeing his nephew in such distress, New’s uncle Le approached Tay, recognizing him. "I think I’ve seen you somewhere before," he said, but Tay simply stared back, not responding.

Turning back to New, Le said, "New, P’Arm will be alright. Don’t cry and gat yourself sick. If you want, I can take you home."

"No, I’m not going anywhere," New replied, his voice hoarse from crying.

"If your brother wakes up and sees you like this, do you think he’ll feel okay?" Le tried to reason with him.

Just then, a doctor and a couple of nurses rushed into the emergency room. Arm’s dad quickly asked, "What’s happening, doctor?"

"The patient is still unconscious, and his breathing is becoming more labored than before. We’re concerned he might slip into a coma," the doctor explained, his expression grave.

Hearing this, New’s heart sank. "No, no, I want to see him now! Ma, Dad, please!" he pleaded, his voice breaking.

"Son, the doctors are doing their job. We can’t see him right now. Be strong; he’ll be alright," New’s mom tried to reassure him.

"Then why did the doctor say P’Arm might go into a coma? No!" New cried, his tears unceasing.

New’s dad, seeing his son on the verge of a breakdown, spoke quietly to the doctor. "Could you give him a sedative or something to calm him down? This could get worse."

The doctor nodded, "We’ll prepare something for him."

Tay stepped in, his voice firm but gentle, "No need for a sedative. I’ll take him outside ." Without waiting for permission, Tay led New out of the hospital.

New’s parents and the others tried to stop him from taking New out alone, but Mook intervened, "It’s alright, everyone. Tay is a good guy. He can calm New down."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

On the terrace, New tried to pull away, "Why did you bring me here? I’m going back to see P’Arm!"

Tay held onto him, "Why are you crying as if he’s already gone?"

"What are you doing here? . Just go away! I’m going back," New snapped, trying to break free.

Tay tightened his grip on New’s arm, "Stop crying for a moment and take a breath, then you can cry all you want again. You foolish child."

New struggled, "You’re so rude! Don’t you know how to comfort people? You’re just making it worse."

"I’m just using my head, unlike you, who’s crying without reason," Tay retorted.

"I’m not crying for no reason. My brother got hurt because of me!" New yelled.

Tay sighed, "Your brother got hurt because he was careless."

New stopped struggling and looked at Tay, "What are you saying? My brother is not careless at all!"

Tay raised an eyebrow, "Really? If he wasn’t careless, he could’ve protected himself and not gotten shot."

"They shot him without his knowledge! If my P’Arm knew, he would’ve fought them off!" New argued.

"That’s exactly why I said your brother was careless. I wonder if he ever fought anyone, as he claims. He’s probably just lying about that too," Tay said, his voice steady.
