Tay glanced at New. "I have other work to do, and that college thing doesn’t matter. It was just a cover."

New looked down, then back up at Tay with determination. "Then can you teach me how to fight?"

Tay raised an eyebrow. "Why do you want to learn how to fight?"

"I don’t want to depend on anyone next time. If I get into any trouble, I want to be able to protect myself," New replied, his voice steady.

Tay sighed. "Didn’t you say you don’t like fighting?"

"I don’t, but now I think it’s important to learn," New admitted.

"You could ask your brother to teach you, since he’s a champion, as you said," Tay suggested.

New shook his head. "He’s still recovering; he can’t teach me. Please, Tay. I’ll learn quickly, and I’m only asking for a little of your time," New pleaded.

Tay sighed again, shaking his head. "I’m not a teacher, New. If you want to learn how to fight, go to a boxing club. They’ll teach you properly."

"No, I don’t want to go anywhere. Please, Tay, just two hours a day—that’s all I’m asking," New persisted.

"I don’t even have two free minutes, let alone two hours," Tay said, trying to resist.

"Please, Tay. Please," New continued, his voice begging.

Tay finally relented with a groan. "Oh, fine, stop begging! Okay, okay."

New’s face lit up, and he hugged Tay tightly. "Thank you, Tay!"

Four hours later, Tay instructed his driver to stop at a nearby restaurant. "I’m not going inside," New said quietly.

Tay nodded. "Alright, stay in the car. I’ll bring the food here."

Tay returned with the food, and New ate everything. As they continued driving, New fell asleep in the car. When they arrived in front of New’s house, Tay gently woke him up. New blinked and looked around, then slowly got out of the car. "Tay, can you come with me?"

"No, you go inside. I have other things to do," Tay replied, shaking his head.

New nodded, but as he walked slowly towards the house, Tay sighed and got out of the car, following him. When New noticed, he asked, "You’re not leaving?"

Tay smirked slightly. "Some stubborn boy did something reckless and now scared to face his family. I thought I’d enjoy watching when they scold him."

New pouted but didn’t say anything. When they reached the gate, New hesitated and then quickly moved behind Tay. "You knock," he mumbled.

Tay knocked on the door. New’s mom opened it and saw Tay but not New. "Tay, where is he? Didn’t you message that he was with you?" she asked, tears in her eyes.

Tay stepped aside, and New slowly mumbled, "Ma…"

New’s mom immediately hugged him tightly. "Why did you do that, New? I was so scared. What if something had happened to you?"

New mumbled into her shoulder, "I’m sorry, Ma. I won’t do something like that again."

She pulled back slightly to look at his face, noticing some bruises. "Did that man hurt you, son?"

"I’m okay, Ma. Tay got there just in time," New reassured her.

New’s mom turned to Tay, her voice filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Tay."

Everyone in the house took turns scolding New, and he kept apologizing to them. Finally, Arm said, "Go freshen up."

New nodded and looked at Tay, who was about to leave. But New’s mom stopped him. "Tay, stay here tonight. It’s already late, and I hope you don’t have any urgent work. Have dinner with us."
