Leander guided me towards the tunnel and told me that Professor Weasley would be waiting for me outside of the common room. "Good morning Ren, I'm glad you seem to have slept well. Did you meet any of your housemates? You'll meet up with your brother after this, and rest assured, we made sure he was with you in your classes to make the adjustment to a new place a bit easier," she stopped once she saw my amused face. "Did you not want him in your classes?" she asked in amusement, which resulted in a sigh/short laugh to leave me. "No not at all. I don't care if he's in my classes, but I'm sure he'd rather me not be in the same classes so that he's able to flirt with girls without my judgement. Not that I care anyways, I just do it to pick on him a little. He's my older brother after all, I don't have many ways to be able to do so, ya know?" I stated in response.

"Yes, I suppose so. Anyways, I wanted to make sure your first day at Hogwarts started off on the right foot since, after all, you only get one first day at Hogwarts and you seem like the kind of person to want to make the most of it. You'll want to make sure that you are making the most of your time here, since you are a fifth year student, here, on your very first day at Hogwarts. In order to help you throughout the school year, we have collaborated with the ministry of magic and we have decidedly devised a tool that will assist you in keeping up with your studies, fellow fifth-year students, explorations in and around the castle, and of course, to help you prepare for your O.W.L.'s at the end of the year," she explained, hitting me with a bunch of information. Really, the only question I could come up with was "O W Ls...OWLs?" She gave a short laugh and nodded, before saying, "The OWLs are Ordinary Wizarding Level exams; they are what we will use to evaluate each student in order to decide what career paths would best suit you once you leave Hogwarts one day.

So the tool we created is called a Field Guide. It's meant to provide maps for Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, and even the surrounding areas around the two main areas. It's an exceptionally valuable resource that will help you to keep track of what you're learning." "Oh, what do you mean it will keep track of what I'm learning?" I asked as I looked down and saw an older, antique looking book transfigure into my hands. The cover was leather bound, a couple rips here and there; the paper had an off-white tinge to it, but seemed to be made of a thicker material since one page was a little heavier than 10 regular pieces of paper put together. "Well, in my time as a student and a professor, I've learned that people tend to understand better through experience rather than just in explanation. Follow me, and I'll show you some different aspects that this book will serve to be quite helpful in," she replied as she began leading me down corridors and spiral staircases. "Ah, here we are. Cast revelio in front of this picture frame," she said as she gestured to a portrait of what seemed to be a Buffalo sitting on top of something, maybe someone. "Revelio," I spoke, waving my wand as a sheet seemed to materialize in front of me.

It read: Portrait of Baruffio
"This portrait depicts the story of a wizard who made an error in his incantation when casting a spell. He ended up saying the incantation with an 's' rather than an 'f' and ended up, rather unfortunate, with a Buffalo sitting on his chest."

"Oh my, what an unfortunate mistake indeed. I'll definitely be sure to study every syllable in my incantations before using them," I stated with a small laugh, causing Professor Weasley to join in a little bit. "Indeed, I'm sure you will. Once you've read the pages, they will appear inside your book, almost in the form of notes. You can go back and read them at any point if you'd wish to do so. These pages are meant to provide you with even more lore surrounding the wizarding world, providing more information about the world you've been launched into, and of course, in the case of poor Barrufio, some stories that will help you not to make the same mistakes other wizards and witches have made. Now, follow me; I have one more thing to show you before I'll let you officially start your first day attending classes," she said before leading me to a sculpture of a woman on a wall with two little pots below it, one holding a green flame, the other holding a grey looking substance. "This is called a floo flame. You can use these as a means for quick travel if you need to get somewhere fast, but you can only travel to places you've discovered. You need to be able to clearly visualize and say the correct spot in order to be transported there safely, and in one piece.
