Ominis tried to follow me once he sensed I had left the room, but I only used that as motivation to speed up. Nothing like running from my troubles in order to clear the mind. However, anxiety pooled in my stomach and my mind began to fog as I felt a rough hand grab my wrist and, surprisingly, as whoever it was gently spun me to face them. I sighed in relief seeing a familiar ginger-haired wizard instead of the honey blonde I was currently avoiding. "Oh, hey Garreth. Sorry, I have to run, apparently the ghost, nearly headless Nick wants to see me -" I began to say but Garreth cut me off with a slight laugh, immediately ceasing my protests and halting my leave.

"I just wanted to see how you faired after class. I saw that Professor Sharp talked to you, even overheard him saying something about 'responsibility' and I just wanted to make sure he wasn't too hard on you. I wouldn't want you to get into trouble for me, I honestly didn't mean for the potion to explode," Garreth said, shifting his weight onto his other leg a couple times, telling me that he was nervous of my response. Odd. "Oh it was nothing, really; we sorted it out. He told me that he was glad for my honesty when he accused me of being the one to help you, said it took guts to be honest instead of knowingly lying to him over something so trivial," I said, but I couldn't bring myself to tell him that it had actually been me casting at his potion in order to distract Ominis from his flirting.

"I'm glad to hear that. Sharp may seem gruff at times, but he's honestly a big teddy bear. I think it has to do with his time being an auror, I can only imagine the tales he could tell. Anyways, I just wanted to make sure you were good, I'll let you get back to finding that ghost. Oh, and I promise, the next time we talk, there will be fewer explosions," he said, sending me a goofy smile as he turned to jog away, on the hunt for another student to chat with I assume. I made my way towards the Great Hall, since apparently our house ghost wanted to have a meet-up in the middle of activity. That had to mean he'd send me to do something safe, right?

"You there. Yes, I'm talking to you. I was wondering if you'd come with me for a moment," the familiar ghost said as he hovered near a wall, and still remained in the middle of the room somehow. "I received an owl that you wanted to see me?" I questioned as I approached him. "Yes, Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington, at your service. I know about that book you found, it's missing some pages, right? I wanted to offer my helpful service to you. Follow me, if you will. It's not too far," he said, just barely giving me a moment to process his overly-complicated name, let alone the fact that he seemed to know about a book I found in a hidden area under the restricted section. Zander was right...tons of hidden secret to be found at Hogwarts.

"Well it's nice to meet you, Sir Nicholas, but how in the world do you know about that book? Let alone that it's missing some pages?" I questioned as I rushed to keep up with the surprisingly fast ghost. He chuckled, "Word gets around amongst the ghosts. You were spotted with Mr. Sallow in the Restricted Section," at seeing my expression change to worry, he quickly added, "Don't worry though, your secret's safe with me. About the Restricted Section, and this mysterious book no one has seen in years. None of the other ghosts will say anything either; the only snitch around here is Peeves, always trying to brownnose with the professors. None of us like him, he's always trying to prank us; that's why we keep the Bloody Baron on standby in the castle. Peeves is afraid of him, not sure why."

We walked in silence for a moment, mostly due to me being surprised that my exploits weren't as secretive as I'd thought them to be, but still feeling flattered to know that the ghosts wouldn't share any of that with anyone else. It was a relief if I'm honest. Sir Nicholas stopped outside of the stairs that led to the Hufflepuff common room, from what Zander told me. "This may be a leap, but I believe I know who ended up with those pages. And, I'd be happy to take you to him - if you'd be so kind as to perform a small favor for me along the way," Headless Nick said as he then started floating away again, and I continued to follow. "Hmmm. A small favor in exchange for getting those pages?" I questioned, only to receive an answer right away. "Yes. It's honestly nothing. I'd simply be grateful if you could just go into the kitchen and procure a little rotten roast beef." I couldn't help my nose wrinkling in disgust, questioning if I had heard him correctly.
