Diamanté

"You sent me a photo?" I asked as I sat down on the couch, looking at the image.

"Yeah. I tried looking into Antonio Ricci, but strangely, I couldn't find any information on him" He explained.

"Then what the hell am I supposed to do with this?" I scoffed at the image, the quality being terrible.

"It was the best I could find. The company seemed hell-bent on keeping even grainy photos like this under wraps... and it looks like he wasn't even in the line of succession until a few years ago. He came in after his half brother stepped down out of the blue" He replied.

"As for that party, I also received an invitation. My guess is that it's going to be some kind of sales pitch. Either that or he's trying to network" He added.

I couldn't help but sigh out when I heard that he'd be there. If that's the case, then I wouldn't be surprised if she showed up with him.

"How unfortunate... I'll have to see your face" I muttered out before putting the tablet to the side.

"Right back at you. Anyways, I noticed that you found an unusual accessory" He soon said, changing the subject.

"Unusual accessory?" I repeated, now confused.

"Yes, that Black Rose's mercnary. I'm pretty sure her name is Alora Madden" He explained.

"You need to be careful. That woman put Gabe in the hospital for a month and nearly slit Quentin's throat" He added as I poured myself a glass of wine.

I found myself smiling as I imagined Alora doing those things, "Didn't take much to take out your right hand man and your brother, huh?" I smirked.

"Mark my words, Diamanté-" He began.

"Don't worry. Right now, we're working towards the same goal-" I began before I heard him slam something.

Looks like I hit a nerve.

"Nothing good will come of people seeing you two together. Especially at that party-" Before he could finish what he was about to say, I ended the call and tossed my phone to the side, no longer interested in that conversation.

I sighed as I ran a hand through my damp hair, my mind then went back to Alora. I always knew that there was something intriguing about her. But for others to talk about her with such negativity...

It just didn't sit right with me.

"Boss!" A voice called out from the other side of the door.

"What is it?" I asked, two of the servants rushing inside with a look of worry.

"It's about Alora. The guests came back and she was injured-" One of them began to explain.

I then quickly got up and left the room, wanting to see for myself.

"Doctor! Bring me a doctor!" I heard Theo yell out as I walked down the hall.
