"Where the hell did he go?" I muttered out as I took a break to catch my breath.

I had been looking all over the place for Gabriel, but it was as if he vanished.

"How can someone just disappear in the blink of-" I began before I was roughly pushed up against the wall.

A loud groan came from my as I felt the pain rush to the back of my shoulders, "You'll never known just how much I've been waiting for this moment" A familiar voice spoke out, looking up to see that it was Gabe.

Of course...

I had a feeling Ivano's right hand man still held a grudge against me.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" I asked him as I grabbed ahold of my shoulder.

"Don't you know that this is a day of truce, Gabe?!" I added, him chuckling at my questions.

"Truce? What a load of bullshit. My only goal is to kill you!" He replied before grabbing ahold of my neck, choking me against the wall.

Damn it... he's just too strong!

"I'll make you feel the exact same pain I did that day!" He yelled out as I felt myself getting dizzy.

I guess what goes around comes around.

Even as I thought I'd pass out, I found myself thinking back to what Diamanté said to me.

"I'm going to help you find your brother, so don't say anything you don't mean. And once you find Arik..." His words wondered in my mind.

No.

I can't let things end like this!

I then used all of my strength and elbowed his arm, freeing myself from his grasp. He looked at me in shock as he fell backwards, giving me time to grab the dagger I had hidden underneath my dress.

It's a good thing I decided on bringing this with me...

Without hesitation, I stabbed him in his thigh before pulling it out, a loud groan coming from him as he fell on the ground with a loud thud.

I then patted him down and took the gun he had, securing it in my holster. "I tried to warn you" I said before creating distance between us as I began to catch my breath, my face feeling as if it were on fire.

"Fuck" I muttered out before putting the dagger back in the holster around my thigh.

Why did I think about Diamanté at a time like this?

I then continued to go down the hall and up the stairs that gave me a full on view of the couples. I grabbed onto the railing as I scanned everyone, looking for Gabe Hines.

Should I even keep looking for him? It's as if I'm always a step behind him.

Or maybe I should head back... Diamanté did tell me to stay put when I think about it.

"He's probably looking for me right about now. Maybe I should head back and discuss this with him-" I began before my eyes landed on Oliver.

I then remembered what Tristian told me about Logan assigning Oliver to guard Antonio Ricci. Even if the guy next to him is a stand in like Ava said, there's a possibility that he could still lead me to Arik.

I then went down the nearest stairs and made my way towards them, making sure to be subtle about it. I noticed a waiter about to walk past them with a tray of wine glasses, an idea popping into my head.
