Chapter 9

Danny and Bonnie went to see their father, Mr. Parker Gilbert. Mere looking at him you could see the bright resemblance between him and Danny, his brown skin glowed perfectly, complimenting his blue eyes which he hid behind his glasses.

It's been 2years since their parents divorced but Mr Parker always comes to see them any time he can, they love their dad as much as they love their mom. They hated the fact that their parents divorced, and they are still trying to adjust to the situation. Mrs Kira and Mr Parker divorced because things didn't work out, but they still keep in touch for the sake of their children.

When Bonnie and Danny are with their dad, they become these vulnerable little children, letting go of their crazy teenage lives and just being daddy's babies.

They went to a nice restaurant, they sat in the booth, Bonnie sat close to her dad practically gumming him, while Danny sat opposite them.

He sat quietly as he watched his children tease each other, a bright smile appeared on his face, and he shook his head and watched in admiration.

A waiter came and attended to them. They ate and had a pleasant time.

They headed over to his apartment and they
played video games together just like in old times.

Oh my babies I've missed you so much and you are so grown now said the father gratefully as he dropped the gamepad on the table, to look at them.

We've missed you too dad, I'm glad you're here said Bonnie resting her head on his shoulder, he gave her a warm smile and a kiss on her head.

"So Danny I can see your team made it to the semifinals, I'm really proud of you and you will be graduating soon, uhm you and Jay, How is Jay ?"

" he's cool dad, you will be there for my graduation right?"

" yes of course and for the semifinals and finals, well I will be here for a while"

A bright smile appeared on Danny's face "Thanks Dad that will be really nice"

" so my little Bonfire, what have you been up to and how is school"

" cool dad, really good "

" I'm so proud of you my little princess, I love you so much and I miss seeing your faces every day" Tears clouded his eyes behind his glasses, he bit his lower lip and blinked a few times to make sure the tears don't fall.

"We miss you too dad"

Bonnie gave him a little squeeze which made Danny chuckle.

"Ohh my boy you are so big now, and on the basketball team I bet the ladies are running after you" said his father with a wink.

" oh they definitely are" he chuckled

So any girlfriend? His father added. Danny feeling a bit more sensitive about the topic just shook his head saying no.

"Why not my boy, you are smart and good looking"

"Well I guess I'm just not a dating type for now" he replied

Or maybe because he's gay and his best friend and him are secretly in love with each other

Hmm I see, well I'm sure you will find a pretty girl very soon said his dad placing his hand on Danny's shoulder.

They both smiled and picked up the gamepads to continue the game.

Jay's date with Claire was the next day and he just got home from shopping. He met his parents in the kitchen.
His parents stood in the kitchen, Mrs Sheila rested her back on the kitchen island and Mr Henderson held her grabbing her waist with one hand and caressing her hair with another. Mr Henderson said something to her ear and she chuckled.
