Chapter 23

After school, Bonnie and Danny stopped at Jay's place to see him before going home.
They knocked on the door and Mrs Sheila opened. "okay great you are here, can you explain what kind of drama happened in school today" said Mrs Sheila immediately she opened the door.

Danny's eyes widened "Oh good day, Mrs.Sheila" he said with a smile as she let them in

"Good day children, how are you doing"

" we are fine" said Bonnie as she found her way to the kitchen "I need a glass of water" she said

" What happened Danny" asked Mrs. Sheila

"We got in a fight, where is Jay?"

" in his room, what kind of fight got him suspended?"

" with a teacher"

" wait Jay fought with a teacher?"

" not physically, hmm more like verbally, he didn't tell you?

" he just told me he got into a fight and he never told with who, and ever since he locked himself in his room"

" okay let me go talk to him" said Danny and she excused him

Danny went to Jay's room and knocked on the door and he opened it.

"So why didn't you tell your mom you got into a fight with your teacher?"

"I don't have the strength to explain to her that I insulted my teacher, his mother, and his dead grandma, I think that was the dumbest thing I've ever done" said Jay as he walked to his bed

"Hmm are you sure that's the dumbest?" said Danny sarcastically and they both laughed.

Well today was a shitty day for me said Jay and Danny added "Oh trust me mine was shittier"

"Listen you have to report Nick to his father, what he did was very bad, I don't know why you called me earlier to hold on. He deserves to be kicked off the team too"

" Jay Nick didn't tell his dad, and we are not reporting him to his dad"

Jay looked at him all confused "Why not? Whether he reported or not, we still need to tell his dad he's gay"

Danny took a sigh "We are not telling his dad anything, please listen to me"

" What did he do to you in that detention, did he threaten you, cause if he did I swear I'd kill him"

"No, he didn't"

"So what is it? You have to give me a good reason, but we hate Nick"

" I know, but you just have to listen to me"

Jay took a deep breath and agreed to listen

Danny told him everything that Nick told him, but Jay didn't seem to buy the story.

"So what?" Are we playing pity party now? And Nick told you he likes you and you didn't give a smack on the face? But you're here defending him. Why would you do that? Do you like him back?

Danny's eyes widened and he chuckled "Oh my God Jay I don't like him back. I'm just trying to help him. We are not the bad guys here. Nick is a messed up human being and we know it. If we tell his dad what Joy are we going to get out of it? If our parents found out that we're gay from someone else, How do you think they'd feel? Telling his parents is his cross to carry"

"We are not the heroes too. But he's gay and he gets to play in the finals and we don't. How is that fair? And I am suspended for three days, and you have detention with him for those three days, don't you think he would try to shoot his shot on you now that I'm not around"
