Chapter 24

After a week, It was finally the day for the finals, the team members were nervous because they were going against a tough opponent and two of their star players weren't playing.

Everyone was at the basketball court waiting for the game to start. Danny and Jay sat in the second row, with popcorn in their hands as they waited for the game to begin. Mrs. Sheila and Mrs Kira were born ready for this moment, they were ready to watch the school fail. Mr.Henderson and Parker sat next to Kira and Sheila. While Bonnie and Zack sat amid Ben and Shawn. Students cheered as they waited for the game to start, although many of them wondered how they were going to win the game.

"Okay this is the moment we've been waiting for and we're going to take that trophy home, I know y'all can do it," said the coach as they lined up to go.

It's not too late to put Danny and Jay in the game coach" said one of the teammate

"Shut up and focus, we have Chad, Bryan, Nick and all of you so believe in yourself. It's time boys" said the coach and he left.

Nick watched his walk away and then he took a deep breath "Okay guys I know it will be difficult but we have to try and if we lose, that's none of our business cause we are graduating, my stubborn father will have to deal with it all by himself but then again, this school has won three times in a row and if we don't win it will be a shame to our set, now we have to give in our best, do you get me?" said Nick

"Yes captain" they all replied as they put their hands together and chanted " GOOO...STALLIONS"

Nick stood as he waited for the timer, he saw Danny and Jay and a lot of things went through his mind. He thought that he would never be able to hold another boy like that in public, or front of his parents and he thought how on earth they were going to win this game.

He ran his fingers through his hair as the game started and the crowd cheered. Their setting was changed, Nick played Jay's position, Bryan played Danny's, Chad played Nick's and the others stood in different positions. It was a bit difficult since they were playing against a very strong team. They played with all the strength they had but at a point, they started losing by 6 points and they were still in the second quarter of the game. Nick managed to score one more point before the buzzer sounded for the halftime break. And everyone left for the break.

"Oh my popcorn is finished we should go get some more" said Danny

" This is so interesting I can't wait to shove it all in coach Rooney's face on Monday" said Jay

" see I told you it would be funny" said Danny and they chuckled

"We are losing, can't you guys see, you are not putting your heads together. Those people are easy to win just focus" the coach yelled in frustration

Dad, we can't win those people, there is a boy there, he plays like Jay but I know Jay is better. We need Danny and Jay, the team is incomplete without them and you know it" said Nick

"Listen I don't want to hear those names from your mouth again, so you hear me? Do you all hear me? Homosexuals are not allowed in my team and This is my team, I am your coach for now not your dad" said Coach Rooney

Nick looked at his father and all the teammates, then he looked at Bryan and Bryan looked at him back because he was the only one who knew his secret in the team. Nick took a very deep breath

"Dad if homosexuals are not allowed to play in your team, I don't think I should play too cause...uhm...I...I...am homosexual, I am gay" said Nick

His father just raised a brow at him" Oh shut your mouth, you stupid child, I reject it. Now listen we need a need strategy"
