'Sup Edgelings!

Dying Sanity AU (Pt.10)

I'm on FI-YAAAAAAAA!!! Two chapters a week for two weeks in a row baby! I have a fifty minute bus ride to school and back every day, which is the perfect time to write! I'm back in the groove and ready to go!

Speaking of the groove... do you guys like it when I add song lyrics in my chapters? Or do you think it's distracting from the storyline? I could just name the song instead of writing each stanza...

Also, I still didn't get to the interview in this chapter!!! But there is another fun surprise at the end!

Also also, one kinda weird thing I noticed from rewatching ONE is that no one ever wears shoes... they must have some tough foot soles, because I go lame if I step on a single sharp pebble while wearing crocs, much less from walking around on gravel barefoot...

I think that's all I wanted to talk about...

Whelp... (Poddy Break / Michael Jr. reference lol)

White puffy masses of clouds floated lazily through the smooth periwinkle sky, their wispy white vapor tails lagging behind them. The midsummer sun shone down with blinding brightness, touching everything below with its glowing warmth. Anything reflective caught the rays and threw them back out in a kaleidoscope of white light.

It was one of those days that no breeze came to caress the heat from the distressed air. One of those days that the gentle embrace of cool shade was in short supply. One of those days that sweat dripped constantly and ice cream melted instantly. One of those days that you became truly grateful for the miraculous wonder of air conditioning.

Amelia and Aaron sprinted across the burning asphalt as they made a break for the yoga studio. The black rock hoarded all the heat released by the fireball in the sky, and then unleashed it on whoever was unfortunate enough to step foot on its brutal surface. The pair burst through the front door and let out a unanimous sigh of relief as their bare feet hit the cold, industrial linoleum floor of the lobby.

Chaya was lucky enough to arrive before the parking lot became a lava lake, and was therefore unaware of their pain. She smiled that characteristic bright smile, and exclaimed joyfully, "Amelia! Aaron! I'm so happy to see you! Are you feeling good?"

Aaron was the first to catch his breath from the impromptu excursion, and huffed, "It's... hot..."

"Indeed! I am very happy to be inside!" Chaya agreed optimistically. "And you Amelia? Are you feeling better?"

"Yeah... thanks for asking...How are you?" Amelia panted, gathering back all the breath she had expelled while being chased by the literal sun.

"Wonderful! I am happy you are both here! I have news from my friend!" Chaya eagerly explained. "He said he wanted to do interview with Aaron on Wednesday!"

"That's great," Amelia smiled, attempting to at least appear cheerful, really she was more preoccupied with worrying about Bryce.

"Yeah..." Aaron nodded in agreement, though he was very uneasy. That was very soon... he didn't feel at all ready... that same strange anxiety from before coming back to haunt him.

He didn't know where it came from, only that it was somehow connected to the thought of being interviewed. Perhaps it was a long forgotten past memory that only existed in the vague sense of dread that welled up whenever he thought about one.
