Howsit Goin' Edgelings!

Dying Sanity AU (Pt.8)

I just got my hair dyed with streaks of purple! My mom finally let me get it done, after quite a lot of nagging and begging that is lol. I like seeing all my friends from school again, but man do I hate getting up early... Oh well, at least I can drive now! Got my official drivers license a few days ago, so I'm driving myself to school now. Gosh I'm getting so oooooooold... seventeen in a month guys...

And I fully believe there is nothing better I could be doing with my life than writing object show fanfiction. <3

Oh! And I've met someone IRL who's willing to be my beta reader! This will be the first time I've ever had a beta reader so that's pretty exciting for me! None of my IRL friends read this lol, can't blame them either... It's kinda weird when you try to explain it to someone who doesn't already know...

Anyways... On with the chapter!

The following day flew by in a monotonous blur. Aaron's mind preoccupied with the magnity of what he was preparing for this evening... A real job, a concept that he had become entirely unfamiliar with during his countless years of isolation after death.

As he wiped down the windows, his bronze body reflecting the sinking sunlight, his eyes were distant and his arms worked on auto-pilot. He remembered (what was her name again?) what Mustard said to him... that she found fulfillment in doing something she enjoyed... But Aaron didn't know if he would enjoy this job. He wasn't even entirely sure what this job was. Hopefully nothing loud... and hopefully nothing with a lot of people...

But maybe it would be good. Aaron would like to do something productive again, maybe even create something again...

He wanted to ask Bryce about it, but his permanent scowl made Aaron hesitant to try and talk to him. Besides, their conversations almost never ended well. He would just wait and ask Amelia this evening.

He was also rather nervous about that, he never had to interact with both Bryce and Amelia at the same time before. He had trouble interacting with just one of the pair at a time.

"Aaron," Bryce's stern, tired-sounding voice snapped him out of his trance, causing him to jump.

"...y-yeah?" Aaron attempted to steady the stutter in his voice. Bryce didn't like it when he sounded scared.

"You've been cleaning that same window for like ten minutes, hurry up and finish the rest," Bryce thankfully didn't sound too angry, just his average level of irritated.

Aaron glanced back at the window he'd been cleaning. Huh, guess he really had zoned out. He quickly wiped down the rest of them, trying to focus while his thoughts buzzed erratically in the back of his mind like a swarm of bees.

"You done yet?" Bryce asked as he finished wiping off the kitchen counters.

"Almost..." Aaron confirmed as he moved to the last window.

Bryce mumbled something unintelligible under his breath as he pulled his phone out, leaning his elbows on the counter as he scrolled through his email. Nothing looked important...

Suddenly, a new one popped up at the top of the list.

It was from his apartment complex.
