What's happening, Edgelings!

Dying Sanity AU (Pt.12)

This whole chapter was meant to be nice and fluffy... but I am convinced that I can't write fluff oh my gosh this is so ANGST!!!! I really need to learn to write something positive at some point my goodness this can't be healthy... but it's also just so satisfying...

I also think I'm gonna host a pole to see which AU you guys want to see updated next after I finish the DSAU. I still have like... 3-5 more chapters to do here, but I want to start planning! I'll hold the poll over on my discord server. I'll update the link and put it in my announcements!

High overhead, ominous dark clouds could be seen tugging at the edge of the sky's fabric, growling and rumbling with menacing promises, but the sky had yet to go through with its threats, as not a single drop had fallen.

Amelia was hoping she could make it to the studio before it started pouring. She hated driving in the rain, and running in it even less. She went ahead and sped up another five miles above the speed limit to see if she could beat the storm.

Aaron, who was sitting in the passenger's seat, stared up at the oncoming storm, remembering that not so long ago, as his footing slipped from beneath him and he fell faster than the waterfall, he stared up at the rain one final time before shattering on a stone spike. The pain had been a mere flash, and the whole event was nothing but an inconvenience... there were worse ways to die...

So many worse ways...

Brrrrrrring... Brrrrrrrring...

"Hello, this is Reggy's Pizza Parlor. How can I help you?" An staticy voice buzzed at the other end of the call.

"Hey Travis..." Amelia sighed. Even now, after he had been gone for four days, she still dared to hope that Bryce would answer the phone.

"Oh, hi Amelia... You calling about Bryce?"

"Yeah... is he there?" Her voice swelled with desperate hope, but she could already hear the answer ringing in her ears...

"No..." Travis' voice echoed the taunting one in her head, "I'm sorry."

"It's... It's alright..." Amelia said quietly, "Thanks anyways..."

"Anytime. Let me know when you figure out where he is... and see if you can get him to a doctor..." Travis' voice echoed with genuine concern.

"Alright... bye." Amelia sighed dejectedly.

"Bye."

Aaron glanced over at the deeply troubled candle in the driver's seat. It bothered him. She barely ever smiled, barely slept, and just seemed so... distant and distracted... She was still kind and caring, but her mind just always seemed to be somewhere else. She wasn't happy.

He wished she was happy...

They pulled into the yoga studio parking lot with no time to lose. Amelia quickly hopped out of the car and hurried inside, while Aaron trailed behind, unconcerned about the rain. They both managed to make it in dry, thunderous threats rumbling from behind them as the door shut with a clunk.

As always, Chaya was sitting behind the counter, beaming brightly at the pair as they entered, "Welcome! You beat the rain I see!"

"Hi Chaya," Amelia forced a smile, "How are you?"
