The announcement of Lucy's pregnancy left everyone at the station thrilled. After the party where Lucy and Tim shared the joyful news, life began to shift.
Weeks passed, and Lucy felt the changes in her body as her pregnancy progressed. The first few doctor's appointments were nerve-wracking for both her and Tim, but each time, hearing the steady heartbeat of their baby reassured them that everything was going well.
One evening, after a particularly long day, Lucy sat on the couch, rubbing her growing belly. Tim joined her, handing her a glass of water.
"How are you feeling?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.
"Exhausted," Lucy admitted, leaning against him. "But it's worth it."
Tim smiled, placing his hand over hers. "I still can't believe we're going to be parents. Every time I think about it, it just blows my mind."
"Me too," Lucy said softly. "It feels like just yesterday we were figuring out what we meant to each other, and now... we're having twins."
As Lucy began to feel the babies' first kicks, the reality of her new life started to sink in. The sensation was surreal, and she found herself frequently placing Tim's hand on her stomach so he could feel the little flutters too.
"Did you feel that?" Lucy asked, her eyes lighting up as the baby kicked again.
Tim's face broke into a wide grin. "Yeah, I did. They're strong, just like their mom."
Despite her growing belly, Lucy continued to work at the station. She'd recently taken the detective exam and came in first, which meant she could transition to a less dangerous role. Though Tim was relieved, he couldn't completely hide his anxiety whenever Lucy went on patrol.
"I'm serious, Lucy," Tim said one day as they drove home from work. "If you ever feel like you're in danger, promise me you'll call for backup immediately."
Lucy rolled her eyes, though she appreciated his concern. "Tim, I know how to handle myself. But I promise, if anything feels off, I'll call for backup."
But with the joy came the inevitable discomforts of pregnancy. Lucy experienced moments of intense fatigue and pain, especially as she entered her third trimester. Her friends at the station, along with Tim, were always there to support her.
"Here, try this," Angela said one afternoon, handing Lucy a pillow for her lower back. "It worked wonders for me when I was pregnant with Jack."
"Thanks, Angela," Lucy said, grateful for the advice. "I didn't realize how much harder this would get as the weeks went on."
"You're doing great," Celina added, offering her a cup of herbal tea. "And remember, we're all here for you. Whatever you need."
The gender reveal party was a big event, held at Tim and Lucy's home. As everyone gathered around, Tim popped the balloon, releasing a shower of pink and blue confetti.
"Oh my God, twins!" Lucy exclaimed, her hands flying to her mouth in shock.
The room erupted in cheers as their friends celebrated the news. Tim wrapped his arms around Lucy, pulling her close.
"Twins, Luce. Can you believe it?"
Lucy laughed, tears in her eyes. "I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. A boy and a girl... We're so lucky, Tim."
The excitement of expecting twins brought on a new wave of emotions. Tim was over the moon but also more protective than ever. He started planning with their friends to propose to Lucy and marry her before the twins arrived. The thought of their future together filled him with determination to create the perfect life for their growing family.

Later that night, after the party, Lucy and Tim found themselves alone in their bedroom. The celebration had worn them out, but as they lay together, a deep need to be close to each other overcame them.
"I still can't believe it," Tim whispered, his fingers tracing lazy patterns on Lucy's stomach. "A boy and a girl. It's more than I ever dreamed of."
Lucy smiled, a flush spreading across her cheeks. "We're really doing this, Tim. We're starting a family."
Their kisses grew heated, hands exploring familiar territory with a renewed intensity. "You're amazing, you know that?" Tim murmured against her lips.
Lucy giggled, her breath hitching as his hands roamed lower. "And you're not so bad yourself, Bradford."
Their intimacy was slow and tender, each movement filled with a deep connection that went beyond just physical desire. They moved together in perfect harmony, taking their time to enjoy every second. The love they shared was palpable, their bond only growing stronger as they prepared to welcome their children into the world.
Afterward, they lay tangled in each other's arms, basking in the afterglow. Tim held Lucy close, his hand resting on her stomach, feeling the soft flutter of their babies.
"I can't wait to meet them," he murmured.
Lucy nodded, her eyes drifting shut. "Me too, Tim. Me too."
