The morning sun barely crept through the blinds when the familiar sounds of chaos echoed through the house. Ethan and Emma were already awake, their babbling filling the room. At 32 months old, their speech was improving, with fragmented mini-sentences replacing the constant stream of baby talk. Ethan tugged at the side of his crib, calling out a garbled mix of "Mama" and "breakfast." Meanwhile, Emma, always the louder of the two, was already attempting to climb out, announcing her need for "yummy food" with determined little hands reaching for the railings.

Across the hall, Lena stirred. Four months old, she was nestled in her crib, cooing softly as she gazed up at the mobile spinning above her head. Her tiny hands reached up, trying to bat at the dangling toys, her gurgles slowly gaining volume as she awaited her parents' attention.

In the master bedroom, Lucy shifted in bed, her ears already attuned to the morning chaos unfolding. She rolled over, her eyes catching Tim's sleepy figure beside her. He was sprawled out, his arm stretched across her waist, his face still etched with the exhaustion of yet another sleepless night. Lucy smirked, remembering exactly why he was so tired. Their familiar nightly routine had stretched late into the early hours, leaving him bleary-eyed.

"Rough night, huh?" she whispered teasingly, brushing a hand over his shoulder as she moved to sit up. "You should've taken me up on that sleep offer."

Tim groaned, his voice still thick with sleep. "You offered that after you'd already started it."

She chuckled softly, leaning down to kiss his forehead. "Fair enough."

The sound of Emma's persistent "Mama, mama, mama" broke through, leaving no room for further teasing. Lucy stretched and swung her legs over the side of the bed, standing up. "I'll grab Lena. You take care of the food chaos," she said, throwing him a playful grin before heading to the nursery.

Tim groaned again but pushed himself up, rubbing his eyes. "Yeah, because feeding two toddlers is a breeze," he muttered, but the affection in his voice was clear.

Down the hallway, Lucy scooped Lena into her arms, the baby immediately calming against her chest. "Morning, sweet girl," she whispered as Lena nuzzled closer. A quick check revealed that Lena was more interested in her morning meal than anything else.

Lucy settled in the nursery's rocking chair, guiding Lena to nurse. The baby latched on effortlessly, her soft hums filling the quiet of the room. Lucy smiled, running her fingers through Lena's fine hair as she glanced at the door, listening to the muffled sounds of Tim wrangling their rambunctious twins.

In the kitchen, Ethan and Emma were already clamoring for their food. Tim, clad in sweats and a wrinkled T-shirt, worked quickly, flipping pancakes on the stove while simultaneously dodging toddler hands reaching for anything within their grasp.

"Daddy, pancake! Pancake!" Emma's voice was louder than her brother's, her hands waving enthusiastically in the air.

Tim turned, handing each of them their sippy cups filled with juice. "Pancakes are coming, hold your horses," he said, nudging Ethan's hand away from the edge of the stove.
