The early morning sun filtered through the curtains as the sound of tiny feet padded across the wooden floor. Emma and Ethan, as usual, were wide awake before the rest of the house, their high-pitched giggles filling the air. Tamara, half-asleep but ever-patient, followed behind them, trying to contain the whirlwind energy of the two toddlers.

Lucy was in the nursery with Lena, gently rocking her newborn daughter as she slowly woke from a short nap. Tim stood beside her, a sleepy but content smile on his face as he admired the two most important girls in his life.

"She's already got you wrapped around her little finger," Lucy teased, glancing at Tim with a knowing grin. "I thought you were going to be the tough one, Bradford."

Tim shook his head, reaching over to brush a finger softly against Lena's cheek. "She's just too perfect. Look at her." His voice softened, full of wonder. "I can't help it."

Lucy chuckled, shifting Lena in her arms. "You said the same thing about Emma and Ethan when they were born."

Tim's eyes twinkled with affection. "I wasn't wrong."

Just as Lucy was about to respond, the door burst open, and Emma and Ethan rushed in, their toddler energy fully unleashed. Tamara trailed behind them, looking a bit frazzled but amused. "They've been asking for you guys since they woke up," she explained with a laugh. "They're little fireballs this morning."

Lucy smiled warmly. "Come here, you two." She motioned for the twins, who eagerly scrambled onto the bed beside her. Emma was first, carefully peeking at Lena with wide eyes, while Ethan, a bit more impatient, tried to climb onto Lucy's lap.

"No, no, buddy," Tim laughed, gently lifting Ethan back onto the bed. "Mommy's still healing."

Ethan pouted for a second before getting distracted by the sight of Lena again. "Baby?" he mumbled, pointing at his little sister.

"Yep," Lucy said, her heart swelling at the sight of her kids all together. "That's your baby sister, Lena."

Emma, who had been silent until now, tried her best to speak, her words still a jumble. "Lena... b-baby."

Lucy and Tim exchanged a proud look. "That's right, Em," Lucy encouraged. "You're such a good big sister."

Emma beamed while Ethan, eager to be involved, reached out a chubby hand to "pet" Lena's head. Tim quickly intercepted, laughing. "Easy, buddy. Gentle touches."

Tamara laughed from where she stood, watching the scene unfold. "They're going to be great big siblings, once they figure out how to be gentle."

Lucy nodded, smiling warmly. "They're already doing better than I expected."

Tim sat down on the bed next to Lucy, wrapping his arm around her and pressing a soft kiss to her temple. "You're doing amazing, you know that?"

She glanced at him, a little tired but still playful. "I don't feel amazing. Mostly just sore."

Tim chuckled, resting his hand on her thigh. "Well, that's why I'm here—to remind you to rest."

Lucy shot him a look. "You remind me of that every five minutes, Tim."

"Because you don't listen," Tim teased, leaning in to steal a quick kiss.

Just as their lips met, Ethan tried to climb onto Lucy again, causing her to laugh mid-kiss. "Looks like we're never going to get a moment alone."
