Vineet is guilt-ridden. Ruhana’s words have pierced his heart. However, he knows that she’s right. He’s an egoistic man who didn’t foresee the aftermath of the decision he took eighteen years ago. As his gaze lingers on Manvi and Ruhana’s laughing faces, he drifts back into the past when Ruhana was pregnant.

When Ruhana complained about the sudden, screeching pain radiating through her abdomen, Vineet rushed her to the hospital. Though her pain subsided, the doctor admitted her, telling Vineet that she might go into labor anytime soon. But life doesn’t always go the way you want; two days passed, and it felt like an eternity, as the dilation process was slow. Vineet stayed by her side, giving her the courage she needed. Though in pain, Ruhana smiled at him, his presence bringing her great strength.

After two days, Ruhana finally gave birth to a daughter, whom they named Manvi. The first cries of the baby echoed in the room, and smiles lit up both Ruhana and Vineet’s faces. Exhausted and tired, Ruhana reached out for her daughter, and the doctors placed the newborn beside her mother. Happy tears streamed down her face as she met Vineet’s gaze, mirroring her own excitement. He kissed her forehead, and in the meantime, the doctor asked him to step out of the labor room, assuring him that Ruhana and the baby would soon be moved to a separate room.

The doctors checked both the baby and the mother, and they were shifted into a room. However, after all the formalities, the doctor called Vineet into her chamber. It was Dr. Anjali Batra, who happened to be Ruhana’s friend. Vineet could see the tension lines etched on Anjali’s face. As he sat before her, Anjali glanced at him and took a deep breath before starting to speak.

“Mr. Dhawan, maine yahan aapko ek bahut zaroori baat batane ke liye bulaya hai. Mujhe lagta hai ki agar aapko pata hoga toh aap Ruhana ko zyada achche se sambhal payenge,” the doctor said.

“Baat kya hai, Anjali? Mujhe ghabrahat ho rahi hai,” Vineet asked.

“Dekhiye, Vineetji, main jo kehne jaa rahi hoon wo mushkil hoga aapke liye, lekin jab bhagwan ne aapko ye ashirwad diya hai, ek pyari si gudiya di hai aapko, toh baaki sab kuch bhi sort ho jayega,” the doctor said, her tone tinged with concern.

“Kya hua hai? Bachchi thik hai naa?” Vineet asked, his tone anxious.

“Vo thik hai, par sirf abhi ke liye!” Anjali replied, her tone serious.

“Tumhara matlab kya hai, Anjali?” Vineet asked, his tone laced with anxiety.

“Maine bachchi ka health checkup karvaya hai aur mujhe lagta hai ki uske brain development mein problem hai, aisa ho sakta hai ki ye issues aage uski mental stability ko affect kar sakte hai,” Anjali said, her tone soft yet firm.

“Tum ye kya keh rahi ho?” Vineet asked, shocked.

“Main thik keh rahi hoon, aage jaake tumhari beti ko challenges face karne pad sakte hai, ho sakta hai normal bachchon jaise growth na ho, aur iske liye aapko aur Ruhana ko taiyar rehna hoga,” Anjali explained.

“Koi treatment?” he asked, his voice cracking with emotion.

“Treatments hote toh hain, par kitna kaam karenge ye bachche aur maa-baap ki will power pe depend karta hai,” the doctor replied, her tone filled with concern for the family.

Anjali looked at Vineet as he tried to absorb the information. The words that his daughter might not be normal were etched in his mind. However, Anjali’s voice pulled him out of his reverie. She told him that they would need to take proper care of their daughter and make a plan for her treatment. Vineet was shocked, but he assured Anjali that he’d handle Ruhana and their child. After a brief discussion, he left the cabin.
