To comprehend yet another loss was tough, to comprehend a loss in what was considered a 'friendly' or an 'exhibition match,' was painful. Being a Premier League team, AFC Richmond should have been capable of holding their own in a friendly match, instead they conceded five goals, still struggling to cover ground on the pitch following Zava's departure from the club.

The team were in Amsterdam, hosted by Ajax at the Johan Cruyff stadium, a city that offered so much, except what it couldn't offer Richmond was a win..or even a draw. Billie had left the team in a sombre state when she collected Jan and Roy for a post match press interview, and as she watched Jan answer his fellow countryman's questions it became evident just how downtrodden the team truly were.

It wasn't a surprise, to feel as though they couldn't do the one thing they were paid to do. Most of them had played the game since they could walk, they were some of the best players in the sport, and yet they couldn't quite break through the doubt and the noise.
