Kaito who just get back to his own apartment happily hummed as he placed the cake in the refrigerator and started making dinner for himself. He planned to have the leftovers for breakfast the next morning.
As he cooked, Kaito thought back on the today's events. He had managed to hang out with Shinichi, and not only that, but he had made Shinichi smile not once but more than twice. Kaito have felt like he and Shinichi had gotten a lot closer since before.
When he finished cooking, he started to eat, of course, accompanied with two slices of cake that Amuro-san had given him. And as he expected, the cake was really delicious.
'Well, the food I cooked is also delicious, as I expect from myself,' Kaito thought as he happily ate his dinner.

After finishing eating (accompanied by two slices of chocolate cake), Kaito put the dishes in the sink, ready to wash them.
Suddenly, his phone rang. Although he already knew who it was without looking at the phone. Since there was only one person who would call him this late at night... its none other than his own mom.
'Great, just great,' Kaito thought as he sighed. He put his phone on the side of the sink (far enough so it wouldn't fall) and put it on speakerphone. He didn't want to put it in his ear because it might bleed.
/Kaito!!!!/ his mom shouted from the phone, as he expected. He frowned and started washing the dishes, not minding his mother. He knew his mother wouldn't let him rest if he didn't tell her why he moved, and of course, he wouldn't tell her, even if they stayed up all night without any sleep.
/You better tell me now, or I'll ask Aoko-chan to go there to you,/ his mother stated, and Kaito frowned again before sighing.
"Mom, like I told you earlier, I won't tell you," Kaito stated as he organized the dishes in their rightful place after he finished washing them.
He heard his mother sigh before speaking. /Fine, if you don't want to tell me yet, but make sure to tell me in the near future, and it better be a good reason, or I'll tell Aoko-chan to cook you those fish./" His mother stated seriously, and he shuddered at the mention of these sea creatures, aka the finny things. He sat in the chair and rested his hand on the table before speaking.
"Yeah, I promise it's a good reason," Kaito stated. Then, suddenly, he remembered something on his Tantei-kun's letter:

He widened his eyes as he finally remembered this important sentence. 'Damn it, how could I even forget this important part?' Kaito thought as he pulled his hair in frustration.
/Kaito? Hellooo?? Are you still there???/ Kaito's mom suddenly said, which brought Kaito back to reality.
"Uumm, yeah, I'm still here. I'm just thinking about something, and well, can I ask a question?" Kaito said hesitantly.
/Huh, sure, ask away,/ his mother stated as she waited for Kaito to ask the questions.
"Is there someone who Dad trusts about his secret about being Kaito KID and maybe about Pandora?" Kaito asked, and his mom stayed silent for a few minutes before answering. She was probably shocked and confused about why Kaito had asked her that.
/Well, there is only one person who your dad trusts the most. His name is Kudo Yuusaku, Yukiko-chan's husband. Do you remember the lady who your father taught you met her before?/ his mom stated, and Kaito hummed, knowing who the person his mom was talking about.
"Yukiko-san, right? Father's student," Kaito stated as his mom hummed.
/Well, Yukiko-chan's husband, Yuusaku-kun, is your father's best friend. He is also the one who made the name KAITOU 1412, or Kaitou KID. Well, I'm not really sure if Yuusaku-kun knows your father's secret, but he is the only one I can think of that your father trusts enough to tell gim this kind of secrets/ his mother stated, and Kaito remained quiet, clearly confused.
'If the only person that my father trusts enough is Shinichi's father, then why is Pandora in the hands of Tantei-kun's family? Shouldn't it be in the Kudo's hands if Kudo Yuusaku-san is my father's most trusted person and the only one who he trusted enough?' Kaito thought, and an insane idea popped into his head.
'Or could it be that Tantei-kun is really a Kudo, and the Kido family just hid him? That means Tantei-kun is the Kudo's secret love child, right? (Guess the reference)." He thought, and he immediately mentally slapped himself at that thought. "I mean, why would the Kudo's hide their own son's existence? But if my theory is correct, it will definitely make more sense since Tantei-kun and Shinichi look so much alike. And then again, why would they hide Tantei-kun's existence?' Kaito thought, but he suddenly got cut off in his own thought by his mother.
/Ahh, I remember now, that I think about it, Yuusaku-kun and Yukiko-chan's son lived in Beika. If you ever meet him, be sure to be friends with him. He is a kind-hearted young man. Maybe you should learn a few things from him, and well, he is a detective, so you two might not get along now. Ah, I remember his name is Shin-,/ before she could finish her sentence, Kaito already finished it for her.
"SHINICHI, right?" Kaito stated, and he could hear his mom gasp in surprise.
/You met him already?/ his mom asked, and he hummed in response.
"Yeah, he's my classmate," Kaito stated.
/Wow, really? So how is he? I heard he went missing for almost a year, but when I asked his parents, they said he is alright. So how is he? I bet he grew into such a fine and kind young man,/ his mother stated.
"Well, he is alright, I supposed," Kaito stated as he remembered how Shinichi looks.
/What do you mean by that/" his mom asked in confusion.
"Well, he looks so... well, unhealthy, pale, and skinny. Not to mention gloomy and seems sad," Kaito satted, frowning as he remembered how Shinichi looked like when they first met.
/Are you sure Shin-kun is naturally pale since birth? Are you sure that he looks unhealthy?/ his mother stated in worry.
"Well, yeah, he looks so pale that I heard one of my classmates said he looks almost as pale as a corpse. Not to mention how he skips lunch. Thankfully, I finally got him to eat lunch with me," Kaito sighed as he remembered how he got literally ignored, not really ignored, but avoided by Shinichi.
/Finally?/ his mother stated in confusion.
"Well, you see..." Kaito then started to tell his mother about how they met on his first day and how he planned on befriending him, getting ignored and avoided, and until finally, Shinichi agreed to finally eat lunch and hang out with him.
/Woah, you are pretty determined to befriend him, even though he is a detective,/ his mother stated in amusement.
"Shinichi is very different to the other detectives, very, very different, especially to that Hakuba bastard. Shinichi is much better than him in every shape, form, and even in all the possible and impossible ways. Shinichi is much better," Kaito stated, not noticing the slight blush in his cheek.
/Wow, well, I supposed I should have thought this would happen. I mean, you and Shin-kun are toddler playmates, so I should have expected for you to get along, even though you're a thief and he's a detective. Well, I bet you already forgot about it,/ hearing his mother's words, he froze.
"W-what do you mean?" he asked in confusion.
/Hmmm, well, like I said, you and Shin-kun are toddler playmates since not only are your fathers best friends and Yukiko-chan is your father's student, but me and Yukiko-chan are very close, close too. So ever since you two were in diapers, you two already know each other. Ahhh, I remember how you stole Shin-kun's pacifier, and when he cried, you gave it back and started patting his head with your pretty little hands. I'm sure Yukiko-chan still has those videos, and many more,/ when he heard his mother say that, he looked at his phone in horror.
"A what video?!" he half shouted. Since it was night, he didn't want to disturb his neighbors, even if he didn't remember those times, but he didn't like that they kept those videos.
/Huhhh, if only we didn't stop seeing each other, maybe you and Shin-kun would be the best of friends like your fathers,/ he heard his mother say, and he didn't bother asking why they stopped seeing each other. It was probably because of his father's death.
/Well then, you better take care of Shin-kun. Don't prank nor stress him out,/ his mother stated, and he hummed in response.
"I will, I will. I promised," he stated as his mother chuckled.
/Then I'll hang up now. Good night. Take care of yourself. Love you Kai-chan,/ his mother stated as he chuckled at the nickname.
"Yeah, take care too. Bye, good night. Love you too, Mom," he stated and hung up before heading toward his room and laying down in his bed.
He suddenly heard a drop on the roof and looked at the balcony window. He saw that it was raining little by little until it was raining heavily.
Unable to sleep because of the loudness of the rain, he got up and walked toward the table near his bed and sat in the chair before opening the first drawer, where the box of Pandora, which was given by his Tantei-kun, was placed.
He opened the box and took out the gem from the box. 'Maybe I should make this into a necklace so I can bring it with me. I know it's going to be dangerous to bring it outside, but it's more dangerous to leave it in here alone in the apartment. It might get stolen,' he thought as he started to find a chain and the other materials he needed.
As he started, he then again thought about his Tantei-kun's letter and his conversation with his mom. 'If the only person that my father trusts enough is Shinichi's father, then why is Pandora in the hands of Tantei-kun's family? Shouldn't it be in the Kudo's hands if Kudo Yuusaku-san is my father's most trusted person and the only one who he trusted enough? The only idea I can come up with is Tantei-kun is really a Kudo, and the Kudo family just hid him. That means Tantei-kun is the Kudo's secret love child. But I mean, it will definitely make more sense since Tantei-kun and Shinichi look so much alike. And then again, why would they hide Tantei-kun's existence? Or maybe Father has another trusted friend that Mom doesn't know, and that is Tantei-kun's family. Or maybe there is something more deeper mystery in this situation,' Kaito thought as he held the necklace he finished. As he looked at the necklace, he thought about his Tantei's last words that night.
'I love you KID.' These words kept on repeating over and over again, but the sad face and smile, and the thought of not meeting or seeing his Tantei again, also kept on replaying in his mind. He went back to his bed and lay down, looking at the necklace he was holding in his hand.
He slowly brought the necklace to his lips and kissed it. "I love you too, my detective (Tantei-kun). I'll find you. I promise. Please wait for me," he stated as he kissed the necklace again putting it around his neck.
He didn't care about the age gap. If he had to, he would wait until his Tantei turned 18 years old. All he knew was that he loved his Tantei-kun. He fell in love with his Tantei-kun's courage, intelligence, bravery, and everything about him. He would wait for eternity if he needed to.
He didn't care about anything. All he wanted was to love and protect his Tantei-kun from those who were after his head, especially the organization that his Tantei mentioned in the letter.
"Tantei-kun," that's the last thing he thought before a complete darkness took over him, and he fell asleep despite the loud heavy rain pouring outside.

I've been gone for what like more than a month, and I have to tell you, my teachers have shown no mercy. It's supposed to be a long vacation, but they've assigned us so much homework and reports.
Anyways, I apologize for the delayed update. I've been busy with school, you know.
