CHAPTER 9, What did you see?
Samansa jumps up from bed at the sudden alarm sound glaring through her room. She rubs her eye and turns it off by hitting it with all her morning strength. Ugh, what a pain. She looks around her room, and glances at the clock again. It was 5:04, perfect - she actually woke up in time... however, she was exhausted.
She looks up at the ceiling, and sighs, before getting on her feet. Why was this day such a pain already? Samansa begins mumbling to herself, and she finally begins getting ready for school. After putting her clothes on, she walks to the bathroom to style her hair. It didn't take much, just water and some hairspray to keep her bangs from getting greasy... she stole that trick from her mum. Before running out to get to school, Samansa grabs a meal from the fridge, warms it up, and runs out with it in hand. She eats it slowly while walking - that's one way to wake up...
"Hurry up and finish eating would ya?" She hears a familiar voice behind her, and when she turns around, she spots Mirroa walking behind her. Looks like he's decided to come early as well... "You're walking too slowly."
Samansa shakes her head and glares at him, she mumbles with food still in her mouth. "Shut up." She chews.
Mirroa rolls his eyes and puts his hands in his pockets. "You seem to be in a fantastic mood, eh?" He says with clear sarcasm in his voice, and Samansa shakes her head in annoyance. The two walk into the School building, and go up to Classroom Number 4. They seem to be the only ones around for now, but... it was a Monday, so they weren't expecting too much. No one was motivated on a Monday morning.
"...Guess that was to be expected." Mirroa mutters as they enter the room, looking around. "Looks like we're the first ones here... in the entire building."
Samansa nods, and throws the paper bag away.
"Mhm." She wipes her mouth, "...just like every morning."
Mirroa nods, and takes a seat at his desk before taking out a book. Well, guess he was going back to his own duties while Samansa would have to find a way to stay awake... She sits down at her desk and begins to look out the frosted window, trying to play a guessing game... well, if anyone walked past the window - that is. After some time, the other students begin to appear in the classroom, talking to each other and taking their seats as everyone waits for the school day to begin.
Mr Yashiro enters the classroom shortly after his students, and he greets them with his signature smile. "Good morning students!" The class responds with their own chorus of greetings, most of them with different states of enthusiasm - some not showing it at all, and some not even greeting him back. Yashiro gives them a nod, and his eyes venture to Samansa's direction. His expression remains neutral, but he's holding back some suspicion. She's never looked that tired... like, on the verge of passing out. He doesn't mention anything, and goes to stand behind his desk - starting the lesson. "Alright, let's get started then!"
Class goes by as normal, with Mr Yashiro teaching the children about Japanese Literature, his personal favourite subject. He knew it was Samansa's favourite too - since she'd always get high marks if they had any quizzes... but now, with her sluggish movements, she looked absolutely exhausted. She looked like her soul wasn't even there. He looks away, trying to not focus his attention on her.
Once class is dismissed, Mr Yashiro waves to the students, and walks over to Samansa, who seems to be asleep by now. He pokes her shoulder, and kneels down. "Hey, Samansa..."
