EPILOGUE, Life Goes On

Samansa sits in the hallway of the hospital. Pneumonia was a given, of course. Being drowned in freezing temperatures sucked. She looks out the window before she spots a few people walking down the same hallway. Just other patients... no visitors just yet. But oh well, what did she expect? It was like, 11 AM. Her friends were all in school, so maybe they'd come later. She sighs, and rubs her hands together to create a source of heat. Yeah... the cold atmosphere in the hallway wasn't great, maybe going to her room was the best choice. She walks down the hall in her little gown, muttering to herself as she pushes the door open. She groans as she sits on her bed, and sighs. Boring...

She had a few games in the room, which she asked the police to bring from her room. She also begged them to bring some of her Shonen Jump magazines, typical.

Battle Tendency by Hirohiko Araki was the story that interested her the most. The volumes were still coming out, so every time the weekly magazine came out, she'd run to the store to get them. Ugh. This whole hospital deal was way too serious. It was just a cold... Well, she was told she had both Pneumonia and Hypothermia, so maybe it was a bit more serious than she made it out to be. Whatever. She'd just have to sit in that boring, cold, white, bland room... and maybe eventually her friends would turn up to visit her. They did the other day, so she was fully expecting them to come.

"I wonder what class they're in..." She mutters to herself, and looks down at her school bag. Mr Yashiro gave her a few worksheets to work on. So much for being hospitalised. She sighs, taking out a maths worksheet. Hell no. She throws it back, and rummages through to find something else. Literature... questions about the damn book she picked. What happened in that book again...?

She looks down at the book on the table, and looks at the worksheet... alright. Maybe this would make the day go by quicker. She takes out her pen, the pink one she... stole... from Yotsuba. She begins to fill in the blank, and by 12 PM, she's done. 3 or 4 more hours till Chiaki and Mirroa visit her.

...It'd be her birthday soon. Hopefully she'd be out by then.

But, where would she go? She has no available grandparents, 2 are dead, the other 2 are in Europe... apparently.

After a few minutes of mindless work, she heard a knock on the door. It opened, and the Doctor walked in.

"...Hi, Doctor." Samansa muttered and gulped. Hopefully she wouldn't have to get more needles pushed into her damn arm.

He holds up a clipboard, and takes a seat beside her bed. "Hello. Feeling alright, Samansa?"

"...Yeah, I'm... fine, I guess." She shrugs, looking down at the work on her bed. "...Seriously. I'm not lying this time."

The doctor smiles, and looks down at his clipboard. "No, no worries. I'm actually here to tell you something."

Samansa tilts her head, confused. Was she getting discharged from the hospital? Oh dear God please be it...

"It's actually a good thing." He says, getting up from the chair. "Are you ready to hear it?"

Samansa nods, coughing before sitting up and straightening her back. "...Yeah?" Better be worth it...

He looks her in the eyes, and smiles. "Well, your symptoms are getting much better, so there's no need for heavy treatment anymore. Good news!"

Samansa nods, again, a little skeptical. He was building up to something, clearly, so she was waiting for him to say something else. Something more... interesting.

He goes quiet for a moment, unusual from what Samansa's seen and heard from the doctor during her stay, he looks down for a bit, and then looks up again. "...Well, there's one more thing I have to tell you. It's... well, it would be more of a suggestion than anything."
