Chapter 21

Annie Cresta POV

We all walked into P.E. class, and Mr. Hensley splits everyone in two teams for dodgeball. Me, Finnick, Katniss, Clove, and Johanna are on a team. Peeta, Gale, Marvel, Glimmer, and Cato are on the other team. The game starts, and I see Glimmer walk over to the bleachers and start putting on makeup. I laugh and roll my eyes. A few people from each team get out, and then I see a ball come straight for my face. I try to dodge it, but it hits me straight in the face. I fall to the ground, and I hear someone scream. "Gale, I'm gonna get you!" Clove says. My vision is pretty blury, but I see her chuck a ball at him. He falls to the ground and starts to pretend to cry. Then I see Finnick run over to him and start beating him up. Clove, Katniss, and Johanna come over to me. "Are you ok, Ann!" Katniss asks. I don't answer. Everything is spinning, and my nose hurts really badly. I touch it and see a bunch of blood. "Oh, that idiot, Gale! I wanted to beat him up, but Finnick has already taken care of that." Clove says. I hear Johanna yell at her, and then I see a blury Finnick. He picks me up and takes me to the nurse's office.

Clove Kentwell POV

Finnick carried Annie to the nurses, and I walked over to where Gale was. He is fighting with Cato. "Gale, seriously! What was that for? You know Annie couldn't have dodged that." I say. Gale just rolls his eyes, and I lunge for him, but Cato pulls me away. "Do you want to get in trouble?" He asks me. I roll my eyes, and then we all walk to the nurses office without Gale. I see Annie lying on a bed. She is holding her head in pain and has a tissue over her nose. Finnick is talking to her, and the nurse is calling someone. "What happened!" Katniss says, rushing over to her. "The nurse said her nose might be broken." Finnick says. I look at Cato and laugh. Finnick looks at us and asks why we laughed. "Three broken noses dang!" I say laughing. We all start laughing except Annie, who just looks at Finnick. Finnick drives Annie home, and we walk to our next class.

Finnick Odair POV

"Annie, are you sure you don't need to go to the doctor's office?" I ask. "Fine Finnic! Take me there but I'm telling you I'm fine!" She yells. I grab her hand and try to calm her down. I drive her to the doctor’s office. She gets checked in, and then we wait in the room. The doctor asks a few questions and checks her nose. "Yep, it's definitely broken." She says. She wraps Annie's nose up in some sort of bandage, and then she lets us go. We get in the car and drive to Annie's house. "Ugh, why is Gale so mean. Like our whole group hates him except Johanna, who's in love with him. Like, I wish he could just leave our group!" I yell. Annie tries to grab my hand, but I pull away. She's looks at me sad and then yanks my hand. "You're gonna hold my hand, Mister!" She says. "And also, yeah, Gale should leave, but that would be mean." She says. I agree, and we go to her house. We hang out for a few hours, and then I go home for dinner.
