Birthdays are always special for people. They celebrate the day with their family and friends. Party with them. Get merits with them. Remember all the things they did in the last year and make plans for the next one. Birthdays were always special for people except Seokjin. For Seokjin, birthdays meant meaningless wishes from the nobles who wanted something from him. The day was filled with many activities that didn't include family or friends. He would usually have a public appearance, interviews and shoots for his birthday. And in the end, he could come back to an empty room. The room felt just as empty as his life.

Seokjin was sure that once again, the birthday was going to be as empty as every year. He was woken up by the sharp sun rays coming from the window. He should tell Namjoon to close the curtains at night. But the wind at night is so sweet. As soon as he woke up, Seokjin found a food tray with a note by his bed.

Good Morning, Birthday Boy.

I have taken the day off from work. I am just running some errands.

Be home soon.( ̄︶ ̄)

Seokjin chuckled and turned to the food tray. There was a cup of coffee with some breakfast. Seokjin completed his breakfast slowly before going to the bathroom. When he entered the bathroom, a shopping bag was on the counter. Seokjin was a bit confused. He looked inside to find another note.

I know you don't like the "weird" clothes that people here wear.

I have got you some clothes that will suit you. I hope you like it.

Seokjin smiled and took the clothes out of the bag. He smiled as he found a white shirt and black trousers. There were some accessories in a box, too. He shook his head with a huge smile. "When he could get these clothes here, why would he let me wear these weird clothes all these days? Such a brat!"

As soon as Seokjin took off his t-shirt and looked into the mirror, he saw the marks Namjoon left last night. Seokjin had never thought he would sleep with Namjoon again after that night. He touched the bruise on his left shoulder lightly. He could still feel Namjoon on himself. He shook his head to escape the thoughts and went into the shower.

After showering, he was surprised to see Taylor in the living room when he got to the dining area. He smiled brightly, "Ah, p'Taylor, when did you come?"

Taylor smiled back, "Oh, I just arrived. Here, I brought lunch for you."

Seokjin took the bag from her, "You didn't have to." He placed the bag on the table, "If you don't mind, please join me for lunch."

Taylor shook his head, "It's okay." As Seokjin turned to him, she continued, "I was here to invite you to the party tonight."

Seokjin raised his eyes, "Party?"

"Yeah, party." Taylor chuckled, "It's for your birthday."

A birthday party? It sounded so childish in Seokjin's mind. When was the last time someone really celebrated his birthday? He couldn't even remember.

No.

He remembered it quite vividly. It was Jimin who organized a birthday party. It was his first year as an emperor. Jimin, Yoongi and Hoseok planned a surprise party for him. But he was so busy that he forgot it was his birthday. He just worked through the day and even at night. When he went to his room the next day, he saw all three boys sleeping on the bed. The room was decorated so pretty. A cake was on the table, and all the boys were dressed in fancy clothes. He just turned around and went back to work like nothing had happened. The night after his birthday, it hit him that he had missed something so important that he cried himself to sleep. He felt guilty, but more than that, he felt like he was fighting against his own people.
