The next day, an emergency meeting was held in the emperor's court. Kim Hanseo was smiling to himself. He was also ordered to be present at the court. He was sure that Jimin was about to be crowned the emperor. Even in death, Seokjin would regret getting involved with him. He wanted to laugh out loud as he saw Jimin, or rather, Kim Seokmin, in the court with the full royal attire. He wore a magenta three-piece suit with a fur-lined cape kept in place by golden chains. His hair was professionally styled, and yet he looked like a child. He was, after all, very young to be sitting on that throne. Jimin looked at Kim Hanseo with a murderous glance. Hanseo was excited to see how he would handle all the pressure of revealing himself. Jimin might as well start blaming Seokjin for hiding him. As the court members settled, there was an uncomfortable silence. Everyone wanted to know what had happened the previous night, but no one dared ask the question.
Was Seokjin really dead?
Before the silence turned into a sea of questions, Jimin looked at the usher and nodded. The usher straightened up, ready to announce.
"Bow your heads for His Royal Majesty."
As soon as the announcement was done, the doors opened. Seokjin walked in with Hoseok, Namjoon and Yoongi on his toes. All three following Seokjin were wearing their uniforms. Yoongi wore his official badge on the blue suit and held a tablet. Hoseok and Namjoon were in their black suits. Seokjin wore an all white outfit with a furred cape. The outfit was similar to the one he wore on his first day as an emperor. He was one hundred percent sure that his uncle remembered the outfit perfectly.
Hanseo looked at him with wide eyes. He couldn't believe he had failed miserably. And now he had no one to blame but himself.
The night before
The men, each armed with various weapons, entered the room. The leader of the group started laughing as he saw Seokjin sitting on the couch alone with a gun in one hand and a cigar in the other. "Are you going to fight us alone? Do you see how many men are with me?"
Seokjin chuckled, "You are underestimating your emperor."
"You are not our emperor!" The man sneered.
Seokjin smirked, "I am glad."
The man huffed and looked back, "What are y'all looking at? Att—" He went silent for a while as he heard the curtains behind Seokjin flutter. A shadow suddenly visible, came out from behind the curtains. The leader's eyes went wide, "Jung Hoseok?"
"But he said Seokjin would be alone tonight." One of the men exclaimed. Clearly scared.
The leader's eyes darkened, "Come on, he is alone too. What would one bodyguard do?"
Hoseok smirked as he shook his head, "I am not alone."
Another shadow from the same spot came out. This time, the shadow was bigger. The giant revealed himself, tearing the smoke from his cigarette. It looked like a devil revealing himself. The men took a few steps back as they saw Namjoon coming out of the curtains. He had a devilish smile on his face as he took a large puff from the cigarette and blew the smoke out. He stood next to Hoseok. Namjoon looked extra dangerous in his black uniform. He took the suit off and tossed it on the ground. Loosening his tie, "Do you want any survivors?"
Hoseok shook his head. He had a straight face, but if you looked closely, you could see a faint, arrogant smile on his face as if he was about to release a beast. As Namjoon started folding his sleeves, Hoseok patted his back, "And there won't be any consequences."
"Hah!" Namjoon laughed before throwing the cigarette away. "Don't get up from that chair, your majesty." He looked at Seokjin, "If you want to live, that is." He winked at Seokjin as he caught the hand of the man who was about to attack him. Seokjin scoffed as he put his gun down and leaned back in the chair with one leg over the other, enjoying his cigar and the scene in front of him.
