Though Namjoon had spoken with Hoseok, his mind was still unsatisfied with how Hoseok had handled the situation. Namjoon wasn't trying to downplay Hoseok's worries or his constant fear. However, Namjoon's fears were bigger. Hoseok belonged to a noble family. Even if their relationship were to be outed, the people wouldn't mind it for the most part. But Namjoon? He wasn't a part of the noble blood. He was a damn mercenary who had threatened to kill Seokjin in the past. How would people react to their relationship? Seokjin's image would take the hardest hit.

Maybe he shouldn't have been in the relationship from the start.

Maybe he was too selfish to think this through.

What if he ended things—

His chain of thoughts was broken as the doors of Seokjin's study opened. Namjoon had not realized that he had returned to his position for a while. He pressed his nails sharply into the skin of his other hand to bring himself back to reality. How could he space out like that on duty? This had to stop.

"... and fire them effective immediately." Seokjin was still giving orders to Yoongi. Seokjin wore a simple white suit with a maroon hue. His hair was styled professionally, but due to long working hours, it was a bit off. He had replaced his lens with specs after the court sessions. They were stressing his eyes a lot after wearing them for so long.

"I will let the chief usher know." Yoongi typed something on his tablet. Namjoon and his team joined Seokjin and Yoongi. Yoongi turned to Namjoon, "Escort his majesty to his chambers and then you should get off duty."

Namjoon nodded. He brought his wrist near his mouth and pressed a button, "His Majesty is coming to his room. Two guards station outside the room."

Seokjin smirked a little. He still remembered how two years ago, Namjoon refused to give orders on the microphone because he didn't want to address Seokjin as 'His Majesty'. And two years later, Namjoon was perfectly following every single protocol. Seokjin reached the door and turned to Namjoon, "Inside my room. I have something to discuss."

Namjoon followed Seokjin into the room and shut the doors behind him. As soon as Seokjin heard the click of the door, he held Namjoon by his collar and threw him on the couch nearby. Namjoon was confused. He was about to get up when Seokjin leaned towards him, "Don't you dare get up!" He took his glasses off and threw them in random direction before putting his hand on the handrest. He held Namjoon's jaw tightly with the other one. His eyes were sharp as if staring right into Namjoon's soul. His jaw clenched, scaring Namjoon a little, "Why were you spacing out earlier?"

Namjoon gulped a little, "I don't know what you are talking about." Seokjin tilted his head with raised eyebrows. Namjoon nervously cleared his throat, "I was distracted, yes. But it's not a big deal."

Seokjin pressed on Namjoon's jaw a little harder, "I think you have forgotten what I had told you. If you try to run away, I will break your legs and lock you up." Though Namjoon didn't believe Seokjin when he said that back then, right at that moment, Namjoon thought Seokjin was really going to break his leg.

"I wasn't thinking about running away."

Seokjin left the jaw and scoffed, "Liar." He stood straight, crossing his hands against his chest. "A member of the royal family and a mere bodyguard?"

Namjoon's eyes went wide. "How—" He closed his eyes and sighed in relief, "Those hidden cameras and microphones are yours." He opened his eyes and tilted his head as he looked at Seokjin with admiration. "I was going to report them to Hoseok." He also remembered Seokjin's latest order to Yoongi, "... and fire them effective immediately." He must be talking about the people gossiping in the garden.
