Thunder!

Seokjin stood in front of the window, enjoying the pitter-patter of the rain against the roof. A coffee mug in his hand and a subtle smile on his lips. He had started to enjoy the thunderstorms ever since he came back from the village. Though the rain wasn't particularly strong, the thunder made the entire scene a little dreary. The garden beneath his office window was thoroughly enjoying the rain. There was a huge tree in the middle that resembled the one they had in front of the village house. There was a small knock on the door.

"Come in," Seokjin replied without looking back.

"Your majesty." Yoongi bowed, "The Emperor of Barmlong has sent a gift for supporting them."

Seokjin hummed, "Put it in the treasure vault."

It had been two springs since Seokjin got rid of Kim Hanseo. In those two years, a lot had changed. Though if someone asked Seokjin, he would say that nothing had changed at all. The kingdom of Barnlong had finally become an empire. They shared their borders. Seokjin was excited to have Emperor Arm as his neighbour. Emperor Arm and his husband, Porsch, had visited the empire to discuss the land they would acquire. There were some disputes, but they had no other option than to bend down to Seokjin's decisions. After the agreements were signed, Namjoon spent two days as their guide around the capital. The act made Seokjin a little jealous, but he drank his envy down with the wine at night.

"Since when did you start liking the thunderstorm?" Yoongi asked curiously. He had always seen Seokjin hating, or rather being afraid of, the thunderstorm. It always brought bad news with it.

Seokjin chuckled, "Ever since I decided to let the past go."

Village (2 years ago)

Namjoon looked at the sky. The wind was too strong. He looked around. The wind was so strong that it was picking up the sand with it. He looked at the sky again. The clouds looked grey enough for him to understand what was going on. He looked at Ohm. "Hey, I need to run home. I am sorry."

He left the tractor in the middle and ran off to the cottage. Halfway through, he flinched as he heard the thunder. "Fuck!" He increased his speed and ran as fast as he could.

"Hey, Namjoon. Why are you running?" One of the villagers yelled.

"Forgot something!" He yelled back without stopping. As soon as he reached home, he opened the door with a loud bang.

"Hyung!" He called out for Seokjin but didn't get a reply. He ditched his shoes at the door and ran in. He looked in the kitchen, but it was empty. "Hyung!" He called out again, but no reply. He ran to their room and stopped as soon as he saw Seokjin.

Seokjin was vacuuming the room with the headphones on. He was dancing along to whatever was playing on the headphones. Namjoon sighed in relief and caught his breath for a second. He huffed before going to Seokjin. He took the vacuum cleaner from Seokjin, scaring him a little. Seokjin yelped and turned back. He was a little surprised to see Namjoon panting so much. Namjoon turned the vacuum cleaner off. Seokjin was about to take the headphones off when Namjoon stopped him and shook his head. Seokjin was now confused.

The world around Seokjin became still and quiet, even when the music was on full volume, when Namjoon hugged him tightly. It wasn't the sort of hug that he did in front of the villagers to prove that they were indeed married. He could feel every last string of emotion that Namjoon was feeling. He flinched a little when there was thunder again. Namjoon forgot that even if Seokjin had his headphones on, he was still facing the window. But Seokjin felt grounded immediately as Namjoon tightened the hug.

Seokjin's eyes went wide. Namjoon ran all the way back home because he was worried. He knew that Seokjin was scared of the thunderstorms. Seokjin hugged back, closing his eyes. He tried to steady his heartbeat. But they kept getting faster. The only weird thing was that he wasn't feeling scared. He was feeling something else that he couldn't quite point out. He fisted Namjoon's sweaty t-shirt when he felt another thunder even when his eyes were closed. It must have started raining. Namjoon turned them around so that Seokjin wasn't facing the window and slowly patted Seokjin's head.
