Y/n and Miguel got into an argument over Peter's death, which led y/n to learn of Miguel's backstory and ended with a bittersweet hug.

The light in y/n's room shined through her curtains, still closed, but not completely. It was a quiet morning, assuming it was still early since the birds were chirping.

A month  had passed since y/n's Canon Event, and the bond between Miguel and her had gotten a lot better. They'd occasionally do "game nights", the typical playing cards, or board games. Or the bonding could be something as small as Miguel making dinner and y/n handing him stuff, or at least chatting with him.

Miguel wasn't the most open guy, in fact, he never opened up. But he liked having y/n around. She wasn't his daughter, and my goodness, never will be. But she was the closest to a daughter he had. [At that time]

But just because the relationship between them strengthened, doesn't mean life is "back to normal".

Most days y/n cried into her pillow, and shut her blinds, as well as shutting the world out.
When she's like this, she isn't the nicest to Miguel, she still even blamed him in her fits of rage for what happened.

+Flashback+

Miguel knocked on the door, which was already slightly open.
"Y/n..you've been crying for quite some time..."

Silence

Y/n was laying on her bed facing the wall and hugging her pillow.

"I'm starting to get worried about y-" Miguel was interrupted.

"It's your fault."

Miguel knew exactly what she meant, but he still stood there in shock that she'd actually voice that.

"If you had just DONE SOMETHING ABOUT IT!..." y/n threw her pillow at Miguel, as well as her stuffed frog. Both ended up hitting his chest and falling into his arms.

"...He.." She started to choke on her tears while trying to finish her thoughts.

Even though she fought the tears off by masking it with anger, sadness took over again as she began to bawl her eyes out.

Miguel shut his eyes, and sighed. He walked over to her and placed the pillow behind her  and propped her stuffed animal up beside it. Before he walked out he looked back at her to see if there was anything he could do, but he decided leaving was his best bet.

Y/n scrolled through her photos with Peter and May in them, and watched videos of the last day they went to the park as tears swelled in her eyes. She shut her phone off because she couldn't take seeing them anymore.

She sat up from her bed and saw Mayday's empty bed. Another reminder of them.
Great.

+The Morales household

Rio had Mayday in her arms as she worked up dinner on the skillet, Jeff was still at work and wouldn't be home for another hour, and Miles was locked in his room blasting music in his ears while sketching.

Miles, along with many others were grieving the loss of Peter. No, not as bad as what y/n was going through, but still.

For Miles, him, and the other teens had no idea about the canon event until it happened, so everything was sudden. To help cope, the group met up a few times a week, but after awhile he stopped showing up. With Mayday around he couldn't help but worry about y/n. Miles zoned back into reality and realized he started to sketch y/n. He sighed and moved from his desk to his bed, without Peter he couldn't get access to her, and I guess he could...maybe ask Miguel how she's doing, but he strictly..

Miguel finally picks up

Miles: Hey Miguel, sorry to bother you b-

Miguel: YOU LITTLE SH- *sigh* I don't want another call unless your are ACTIVELY bleeding out.

Miles: ...

I've been taking hard classes and needed to devote my attention to that.
