chapter 11

Mia quietly walked into the nursery walking straight past Agatha and into the hall. She was struggling to steady herself and she felt so dizzy. at last she reached the office door and swung it open. Marjorie turned her head and the nice smile turned into a look of hate. mia stayed silent for a few seconds before speaking up. "i just needed to speak to you about the upcoming meeting." marjorie slumped into her chair angrily before glancing at mia who was paler than a ghost. Mia sat in the chair opposite marjorie's desk. "marjorie i know your angry at me but can we please just forget tha-" marjorie cut mia off and started having a go at her, not even realising char had walked in.

Marjorie finally calmed down and noticed char who was froze in the hall. Mia had her hands on her head as if she was blocking out everyone and everything. Mia stood up, wobbling a bit. "i just wanted to fucking give you this." she chucked a white envelope with the name marjorie written on it in fancy handwriting. char was stood there the whole time froze as she watched it play out in-front of her. mia went silent for a second before chucking the envelope onto marjorie desk "open it tonight" and then she stormed out, barging past char.

Marjorie looked up at char who was looking at the envelope in Marjorie hands. "marjorie you should just open it." char said looking at marjorie. marjorie thought for a moment "ill open it before we leave, you can read it with me." char agreed before returning to the toddler room.

Mia ran up the street and by the time she had reached her house, her throat was burning. she walked inside, chucking her bag onto the floor and slipping her boots off. she stared at the pile of envelopes on the counter top before slowly pulling out one and adding something to the end.

'im sorry for everything sweetheart'

The words lit up the page and mia closed the envelope shut, making sure it was sealed. she placed it on top before stuffing the envelopes into a bag and grabbing her car keys. Mia drove back into the nursery car park and carefully got out. she walked in and started fidgeting. all she could think was 'they wont miss me' she walked into the baby room dropping Carly's and winters envelopes with Carly. she then went into pre-school to drop off some more before walking into the toddler room and giving sorcha and charlottes  to sorcha. she also made sure everyone knew not to open them until tonight, this confused everyone slightly but they agreed. finally she walked into the office and put autumns on her desk before walking out, not uttering a word.

Mia climbed back into her car and quickly drove to reece's nursery. She walked into the office to be greeted by a concentrated reece. "reece" she said slightly making reece jump. he was a bit confused she didn't call him reecey but ignored it. "oh hi mia how did it go?" mia scoffed "it doesnt matter." she then handed reece 2 envelopes with the names: 'reece' and 'deliah' mia looked at reece who was obviously very confused. "dont open it until tonight." mia said before walking out. reece sat there confused but agreed and got back to work. she saw she forgot one persons when she peered in the bag the envelope read: 'Siobhan' she quickly ran back into the nursery and handed it to reece. "please tell her not to open it until tonight, get it to her as soon as possible" reece turned confused again "oh okay.." mia dashed back out and jumped into her car.

was that going to be the last conversation she ever has?.
