Batuk held the Boy tighter if it was possible . His sobs were unstoppable from the moment he saw Bondita going towards the door . Batuk was the first one to recover from the shock as Anirudh's push brought him back to reality . He was getting anxious by each passing minute after his dad had gone to his room and locked himself with her . Normally he wasn't that nervous about their misunderstandings or his dada's anger but today ...he was more than nervous , he was afraid that this home would fall apart . Also he was terrified about his dada's anger . He is certain that he would do nothing to harm Bondita but still a fear was gnawing his heart that nothing will be the same again .
And he felt empathy for the poor boy in his arms.
He doesn't know what his relation is with Bondita , why did he call her maa ? What he knows is the amount of pain in the innocent voice that cried out for his maa . He felt the pain deep inside is heart remembering his maa being carried out of the house ...lifeless .
It was the moment he knew the source of happiness in their home was gone and he had to step up , put a smile on his face and irritate others so that they could forget every reason of sadness and grief . His silliness , childishness , idiocy has tied the house , saved the house from breaking apart .
But he wasn't sure how much he could hold it longer .
it was breaking him .
" Aarav "
All of their heads turned to the direction of stairs where they both stood wearing the emotions on their faces reflecting their inner storms. Their every step made their heartbeat faster in fear imagining the worst case scenario but...to their huge relief they were descending down the stairs with hand in hand.
Aarav looked up , wiping his tears but unable to stop the stream as he saw his mom looking at him with the same love which he envied once looking at other children. His birth mother could never give him the love Bondita has given him. He only has seen the hatred of ruining her life, the bitter truth, the disgusting look in her eyes so much that he refused to believe that someone could love him. So when Bondita started showing him even a little bit of affection, he was terrified believing that someday this will vanish too.
This was the day.
But he wanted her. He wanted her to love him. He wanted her to tell him stories. He wanted her to pepper kisses on his face whenever she wanted. He wanted her to praise him. He wanted her to feed him with her hands. He wanted her to hide him in the motherly embrace of her......... He wanted her.
He wanted his mom.
The sight of his tears broke something inside both of them. Bondita rushed forward and reached Batuk, wasting no time taking Aarav into her arms, holding him close and breaking down in tears. Her knees felt weak as they touched the ground . She felt her soul ripped apart when she realised that she was going to leave the baby... she was going to leave him and make him motherless. Make him go through the same pain she and her husband experienced.
Clenching shut her eyes she peppered kisses on his face, kissing his tears as an act of apology , rubbing circles on his back.
" M-maa...maa"
" Mujhe maaf kar do bacche... mujhe maaf kardo. Main kabhi tumhe chod ke nahi jaungi... shotti"
He looked at her hopefully, pinching his throat causing her to let out a tearful laugh. She nodded her head smiling at her baby. She once again took him in an embrace. He buried his nose in her neck, sniffling .
Anirudh stood frozen for a moment, watching them, his chest tightening as the reality of it all hit him-this was his son, his flesh and blood. The knowledge struck him with the overwhelming force that Aarav .. Aarav was his own son. His baby... the baby he prayed for, the baby he cried for , the baby he longed for.
