Dick was worried about Amber. He noticed the only time she really came out of her room was for school or meals since Alfred preferred everyone to sit down as a family when they could. He thought they had been making progress, but maybe he was wrong. It seemed like something had her crawling back ingo her shell, and he couldn't fathom what.
"Why don't you come hang out with us? We're going to watch a movie in the family room." Dick beckoned Amber to follow him.
She stood frozen by a bookshelf in the library, her fingers hovered over the books but never selecting one. It was one of the few times he'd seen her anywhere in the manor besides the dining room. The sight reminded him too much of a young Jason.
"Maybe you could help me vote for a Disney film," he tried to persuade her. "Damain always shoots them down unless the main character is an animal and Jason won't watch unless there's at least mild violence. You don't want to know how many times we've been forced to sit through Robin Hood and Zootopia."
"A movie sounds good."
Dick refrained from jumping for joy.
They sat down in the family room together, Amber taking a seat on the floor next to Damian and Dick choosing to plop down on the couch and disturb Jason, who grumbled a little before settling back in. Tim crouched by the TV messing with some of the cables.
"What are we watching?" Damian asked Dick. The younger wrinkled his nose, putting up a front about wanting to get the movie over with as soon as possible.
"I was thinking something nice like Sleeping Beauty."
"If you're going to force us to watch a silly princess movie then at least pick a good one," Tim grumbled as he came to sit down on the floor by Amber and under Dicks feet.
"I hate to admit it, but I agree with Drake. Mulan is the only acceptable one from that line up."
Duke perked up from an armchair. "Please not that again. Can we try to watch something we haven't seen in the last month?"
"This is taking too long." Jason got up from his seat and tried to get the remote.
Tim, not wanting to be forced to watch whatever drama Jason picked lunged forward to stop him. Damain screamed as he saw Tim was about to jump over him to get to Jason.
"Drake do not dare. . ." he was cut off by Drake pushing down on his head to fight Jason.
"Let go Timmy, and let the adult choose."
They struggled over the remote, Jason holding the decide over Tim's head while Tim tried to climb him.
Alfred chose that moment to enter the room. He stood at the door frame and cleared his throat, stopping the argument all together.
"I believe should you be unable to choose among yourselves I should be forced to decide for you." Alfred walked up to the boys and held out his hand for the remote.
Jason, never one to disrespect Alfred, handed it to him with no argument, and Dick chuckled earning himself a disapproving look from the butler.
Alfred scrolled through the options and selected Tangled for them to watch. "I will return with popcorn." It was a warning should anyone try to change his selection.
Dick was happy as they all settled in to watch the movie. Damian was getting tired and eventually climbed up to sit in his lap while the movie continued on. By the time Mother Knows Best started playing Damian was asleep, and Jason had already gone through two bowls of popcorn.
Dick looked down at Amber who was playing at the hem of her shirt. She didn't look like she was having the best time. Dick nudged Tim with his foot and tilted his head towards Amber when his brother looked back.
