Hey! I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have been reading and commenting. I hope you're enjoying the story so far, and I appreciate all the support.

This chapter is defiantly one of my favorites, with how it all came together. Thank you again! :)

Amber returned to the manor in one of the new outfits they'd picked out. Selina had insisted she wear it after they'd gotten her hair done and finished at one of the make-up stores. It was agreed and Amber wore a long sleeve white sweater with a black and white checkered skirt.

Alfred came out to help them with the bags when they arrived. "My, what a productive trip indeed," he commented.

"What's all this?" Dick questioned passing by the entryway.

"The ladies have just returned from their shopping trip," Alfred told him.

"Really what'd you get?" Dick asked poking around the bags until Selina swatted his hand away.

She nudged Amber forward. "Doesn't she look like a doll?"

Amber shuffled her feet on the floor embarrassed. Dick beamed as did Alfred as they complimented Selina's efforts.

"I believe my work here is done. If these boys give you too much trouble you have my number now." Selina said bidding them a goodbye and promising not to stay away again for too long.

"Did Selina and you pick out something for the gala?" Dick asked itching to poke around the bags again.

Amber nodded. Selina had done much more than that. She was still a little overwhelmed by it all. On the way out of the mall a pair of shoes caught her eye that Amber just had to have for the holidays. She'd forgotten it was so close to Thanksgiving, and wondered what festivities were already being planned out.

"I will see to it that everything's taken up to your room," Alfred said. "Barabra Gordon called earlier. She said that Harley was able to remove his boot today and suggested that you give him a call."

Amber thanked him and ran off to call Harley. She found a quiet corner and pulled out her phone. He invited her over to the commissioner's house, telling her to bring the suit with her.

Dick said he was headed back to Bludhaven that afternoon and offered to drop Amber off on his way when she asked.

She had been working on implementing an AI to the suit, it being made easier by having access to a laptop at the manor. The AI was similar to Friday, and she was excited to show Harley. Amber had been calling it Mark, as a joke to what Tony named all his suits, but it quickly stuck. Now the AI was known as Markus, and she thought was very distinguished.

Harley had some adjustments he wanted to make to the suit as soon as Amber got there. She flopped down on his bed, while he fiddled around, a bubbling energy filling her.

"How does it feel to finally be free of that boot?" Amber asked him jokingly, trying to fill the silence.

"Like freedom at last. I was starting to think we'd find a way back home before that damn thing came off. It might have been good for the press though. You know, to make it look like we'd been kidnapped or something."

Amber had tried not to dwell on what Tony would have to say in their absence. There would have to be some lie spun surely upon their return.

"Do you think about it much? What everyone will say," she said.

Harley sighed. "Only every night."

Amber felt guilty for his homesickness. She should have been working harder to find them a way back, not playing family with the Wayne's while Harley waited around and hoped for the best.
