V’s new norm has become work, relax with Y/n or N, occasionally Tessa, or have her visor get worked on.

Today was the latter of the events, with all her tasks finished for the day V made her way through the twisting halls, sticking close to the wall for a constant brace, looking to the wall and her feet with every time just in case.

With 3 soft taps against the door she waited for permission to enter the room, peaking in towards the two teens, waving hello. “Hi. I'm not interrupting you guys, right?” She questioned while stepping in further, carefully closing the door behind her. “Not at all, what'cha need V?” Tessa hummed, leaning towards the anxious drone. “O-Oh uh, well Y/n said he'd help with my vision today so I was just… Coming to check if that's still happening or…?” V was hesitant in her words, almost as if she was asking for something completely out of left field. But thankfully this wasn't the case, Y/n’s face lighting up after a second of confusion. “Oh, right! I almost forgot, yeah of course we still are. Come on V.”

While Y/n gathered his things, Tessa turned to V with a teasing grin. “So, how many times now has Four Eyes over here promised to fix ya by now?” She inquired, laying on her stomach, legs kicking idly in the air. V paused, taking the question to heart as she began trying to recall the amount of times. “Uh, I think 4 times now? Maybe more? I-I don't really remember.” Tessa couldn't help but chuckle, quickly covering her mouth. Soon replaced with a small yelp as a pillow smacked against the back of her head.

“Yeah yeah real funny.” He rolled his eyes, hopping off the bed and walking towards the door. “Let get goi-” His sentence was interrupted as not even a second later the same pillow smacked against his back, Tessa’s brightening laughter followed right after. V couldn't hold in her own giggle, covering her mouth to try and not make it obvious. Y/n just shook his head, unable to whip away the stupid grin. “Let's just go.” “Ooh wait!” Tessa called out as he began walking away. “Can you give me my pillow back?”

Taking a pause a thought came to mind, grabbing the pillow off the floor. “Of course, catch!” Unfortunately Tessa was quick to react, ducking down as the pillow flew above her head, the girl letting out a triumphant laugh at his miss, quickly grabbing for another. Seeing this Y/n quickly grabbed V’s hand, ducking out the room and closing the door, pillow hitting against the wood, a groan of annoyance heard from the inside of the room along with a muffled ‘You suck’.

With shared laughter the two headed towards the library basement, pointless chit chat filling the air. While in the basement V had become accustomed to the moments of darkness. No longer finding herself filled with an anxiety of staying in said darkness as often as before, now not feeling as lonely with someone always by her side. It didn't feel as cold as the past hours, days, weeks, or even months of that cold, empty darkness as before. Though she can still get a bit antsy if the darkness stays present for a tad too long for comfort.

Feeling a new visor get plugged in, V unconsciously held her unneeded breath, fingers tightening around the hem of her skirt, fabric all wrinkled and bunches up when compared to the rest of her attire. The familiar beeping and thrill booted up, bar of light passing over her synthetical retinas, bars of code flying through, far too quickly to read nor make sense of. With the final beep the loud hum calmed down, becoming that of a faint whisper within the gears of her skull as the few given colors she could access lit across her visor, all having some form of outline, unable to fully differentiate them. Like always.

“Sorry, still no.” She sighed, looking down, noticing at least one change. “O-Oh, but at least my vision isn't glitching anymore!” She quickly corrected herself, head shooting up and looking to Y/n in joy, beyond thrilled that at least one major annoyance is gone. Though Y/n didn't seem to share the same enthusiasm, moving his glasses aside, sliding them within its snug compartment, pocketing the case as he stood. “Damnit, at least it's some progress.” He grumbled, picking up the previous visor, placing it in one of the drawers. “I don't know why we can't find you a single visor that's not compatible.”
