At Wesley's apartment
Wesley sat at the kitchen table, sipping coffee as he browsed listings for a new home that could accommodate himself, Lucy, the twins, and some extra space for future needs.
Lucy walked in, wrapped her arms around Wesley's neck, and kissed his cheek softly.
Wesley looked up, a concerned expression on his face. "What's wrong?" he asked gently, rubbing her arms.
Lucy smiled softly but her eyes held a hint of worry. "Nothing's wrong. I just wanted to remind you how much I appreciate everything you do for us."
Wesley set his coffee cup down and turned to face her fully. "I'm just trying to ensure we have enough space for everything we need. It's a big change, and I want to get it right."
Lucy nodded, her smile growing. "I know, and I love you for it. I'm just excited about our future together and all the changes coming our way."
Wesley reached out, taking her hands in his. "I'm excited too. We're building something great for our family, and I couldn't do it without you."
Lucy squeezed his hands, her gaze softening. "We're in this together, Wesley. Whatever comes, we'll handle it. And we'll do it as a family."
Wesley pulled her close, resting his forehead against hers. "Absolutely. Together."
They shared a quiet moment, embracing the warmth of their connection before Wesley turned back to his computer, more determined than ever to find the perfect home for their growing family.
Wesley said, "And just so you know, I've picked up from John that not everything carries the weight we think it does. You can thank his two decades of experience with Sarah for that insight."
Lucy chuckled and said, "I'm just worried that we won't find a place that ticks all our boxes."
Wesley responded with a smile, "If I have to spend every cent I have to find the perfect home for us, I will."
Lucy teased, "Oh, no you won't. We use your money for the big stuff and mine for groceries. Or did you forget?"
Wesley laughed and said, "Right, right. I'll leave the grocery budget to you."
Lucy grinned and kissed him on the cheek. "Good. Now let's get back to house hunting."
Wesley asked, "How's Jackson settling into your apartment? Is he enjoying the place?"
Lucy said, "Yeah, he's paying the rent, so that's one less thing we have to worry about." She pulled a chair closer and sat down, leaning her head on his shoulder.
Wesley asked, "And how are the twins?"
Lucy replied, "They're asleep. Hey... there's something I've been meaning to ask you."
Wesley looked up from his computer, sensing the seriousness in her tone. "What's on your mind, honey?"
Lucy took a deep breath and said, "I want to have another baby."
Wesley paused his typing and turned to look at her, seeing the sincere smile on her face. "Honey..."
Lucy's smile faded slightly. "What? Do you not want more children?"
Wesley replied, "It's not that. I was thinking, maybe we should wait until the twins are a bit older."
Lucy asked, "How much older?"
Wesley said, "Maybe when they're a year old."
Lucy said, "But I really want to do this now, Wes. Please."
