With Lucy

Lucy sat in the back of the ambulance, her gaze fixed on Wesley, who was lying on the stretcher. She asked, her voice trembling, "Is it the virus?"

The medic attending Wesley replied, "There's no sign of bleeding. It looks like he's having a severe reaction to the vaccine."

Wesley began to twitch uncontrollably, and the medic's voice became urgent. "He's going into anaphylactic shock. I need epinephrine, now!"

Lucy placed a comforting hand on Wesley, trying to steady him as he convulsed. Her heart ached at the sight of him in such distress.

She whispered to herself, her voice barely audible over the chaos, "You better come back to me. I love you, Wesley Newton Wick."

Later

Lucy noticed the ambulance come to a sudden stop, followed by the sound of gunfire. Instinctively, she threw her body over Wesley's to shield him from the incoming shots.

Peering outside, she heard Lopez's voice crackle over the radio: "7-Adam-15! Shots fired at Shaw Memorial!"

The barrage of gunfire intensified, but Lucy stayed close to Wesley, her primary concern being his safety.

Determined, Lucy climbed into the front of the ambulance and exited through the driver's door. She spotted Jackson and called out, "Right behind you!"

Lucy sprinted forward, firing at the suspect, while Jackson dragged a wounded nurse to safety. She quickly took cover, her focus split between the immediate danger and Wesley's safety.

John emerged from the cover, shooting at the suspect, but his gun clicked empty. He struggled to reload from his duty belt.

Suddenly, the ambulance doors swung open, and someone took down the suspect charging at John. It was Wesley.

John tackled the person to the ground, and Lucy recognized it was Wesley. "Wes?"

Wesley, catching his breath, asked, "Luce? Are you okay?"

Lucy, still shaken, replied, "I should be asking you that."

Wesley reassured her, "I'm fine."

John, now securing the suspect, shouted, "Suspect in custody! Doctor! I need some help over here!"

Wesley walked over to his brother and asked, "Are you okay, Johnny?"

John, catching his breath, said, "I should've reloaded on the move. You?"

Wesley chuckled, "I should've taken yesterday off."

The two brothers shared a relieved laugh amidst the chaos.

Two weeks later

With Wesley

At Wesley's apartment

Wesley was seated in the nursery's rocking chair, gently bouncing Nora up and down. The soft creak of the chair and the peaceful cooing of the baby created a calm atmosphere.

Lucy walked in, a teasing smile on her face. "Don't you look all kinds of sexy in that rocking chair?"

Wesley looked up, a grin spreading across his face as he adjusted Nora to hold her more comfortably. "Oh, do I now?"

Lucy approached, her expression shifting to concern. "Are you okay? Administrative leave ends tomorrow, and we have to get back to work."

Wesley nodded, though his eyes betrayed a hint of lingering unease. "I'm okay."
