With Wesley
Wesley slid into the driver's seat of KITT, the door closing smoothly behind him. Once inside, KITT's voice greeted him with its usual precision. "Good morning, Michael."
Wesley nodded, still waking up. "Morning, KITT."
"I have new mission files that have been uploaded," KITT informed him.
Wesley opened the door again and stepped out, stretching as he walked to the front of the car.
KITT, always wise, noted, "My bio-sensing matrix indicates you're still fatigued from last night."
Wesley smirked, running a hand through his hair. "You need a bio-sensing matrix to figure that out?"
"If you prefer, I could display the files inside the car," KITT suggested, adapting as always to Wesley's preferences.
Wesley shook his head. "That's okay. I like it out here."
Suddenly, holographic files appeared on KITT's hood, flickering into view with sharp clarity.
"It will be morning soon," KITT observed. "Will you have enough time to fully prepare?"
Wesley's eyes scanned the holograms. "KITT, I can handle it."
KITT, always attentive, added, "But you do remember that tomorrow night is—"
Wesley cut him off with a sigh. "Yeah, I know."
KITT paused before asking, "Will Lucy not be upset?"
Wesley glanced at the files, his jaw tightening slightly. "Probably."
The holograms shifted, displaying images of two men.
"I have an incoming video call from the SSC," KITT informed.
"On the exterior," Wesley commanded.
A holographic video feed appeared above the hood, revealing Sarah's familiar face.
"Hey, Michael," Sarah greeted. "Your job is to meet with someone who has crucial files. Our job is to arrest him and bring him to the SSC."
Wesley frowned slightly. "Why am I getting this assignment? I work with the LAPD."
"Because the man is in Los Angeles," Sarah explained. "That's why you were given the assignment."
Wesley nodded, understanding. "Alright. I'll get on it, Sarah."
"Thank you, Michael," Sarah said with finality as the video call ended, leaving Wesley standing alone with the mission ahead.
As the holographic feed disappeared, KITT immediately began providing more details on the case. "The man in question is Eric Grayson, a former cybersecurity expert turned black market dealer. He's been linked to several high-profile data breaches, including one involving classified government information. The files he's carrying are believed to contain sensitive material that could compromise national security."
Wesley rubbed his temples, processing the information. "Sounds like a real piece of work," he muttered.
"Indeed," KITT agreed. "The meeting point is an abandoned warehouse in downtown Los Angeles. It's scheduled for 11:00 AM tonight. Grayson is expected to hand off the files to an unknown buyer. Your objective is to intercept the exchange, secure the files, and ensure Grayson's arrest."
Wesley sighed, feeling the weight of the mission settle on his shoulders. "KITT, if we're going to keep going with this conversation, I need coffee. And I mean, now."
KITT's voice took on a slightly amused tone. "Understood, Michael. There's a coffee shop two blocks from here. I can have your usual ready by the time we arrive."
