At the hospital
Wesley, Lucy, and Zoe sat quietly in the hospital room, waiting for the doctor. Lucy had fallen asleep, her head resting comfortably on Wesley's shoulder. He glanced down at her, noticing a small spot of drool forming on his shirt.
Zoe caught his expression and smiled. "She's sleeping well."
Wesley smirked, trying not to move too much. "Yeah, well, she's drooling on my shirt."
Zoe chuckled softly. "You know what they say... drooling means you're having a good sleep."
Wesley shook his head with a light laugh. "I never expected any of this."
Zoe looked at him curiously. "What do you mean? Being in a relationship with two women? Or being here for our first ultrasound with our baby?"
Wesley nodded thoughtfully. "That... I mean, you're six months pregnant, and it's all starting to feel real. I can't wait to meet this baby."
Zoe's face softened, and she reached over to squeeze his hand. "I can't wait either. I've been thinking about some names and wanted to run them by you."
Wesley perked up, though a hint of nervousness crept into his voice. "Okay, what are they? Normal names, right?"
Zoe grinned mischievously. "Oh, definitely. I considered naming our kid after your codename in the Fraternity."
Wesley's expression shifted from amused to deadpan as he stared at her. "We are not naming our kid 'The Killer.' Absolutely not."
Zoe burst into laughter, squeezing his hand reassuringly. "I was just joking, honey."
Wesley sighed in relief, though the seriousness lingered in his eyes. "That's not something to joke about, Zoe. For a second there, I thought you were serious."
Zoe's laughter softened, and she leaned in closer. "I promise, we'll pick a name that reflects the future, not the past."
As Lucy began to stir, a soft voice broke the silence. "What's wrong?"
Wesley turned to see her slowly waking up. "Nothing's wrong. Just go back to sleep," he whispered, gently kissing her forehead.
Zoe chimed in with a smirk. "I made a joke about naming our kid after his codename in the Fraternity."
Lucy jolted upright, her eyes wide. "I'm sorry... what? You can't be serious about naming your kid 'The Killer,' right?"
Zoe held up her hands defensively. "I said it was a joke, guys."
Wesley sighed, the tension clear in his voice. "That's not something to joke about. I was given that name because I was the best killer they had. I don't want to be that person anymore."
Zoe's tone shifted, more serious now. "Is that why you keep that damn jacket? Because you don't want to be that person anymore?"
Wesley's eyes hardened as he met her gaze. "Excuse me? That jacket was given to me by my adoptive father. At the time, I thought he was my real dad."
The room fell into a brief, heavy silence. Lucy looked between the two, her expression softening. "Wes... we're here for you, no matter what. But it's okay to let go of the past."
Wesley nodded, the tension in his shoulders easing a bit. "I know. It's just... complicated. That jacket, that name... they remind me of where I came from, but also where I don't want to go back to."
Zoe reached out, placing a hand on his arm. "We get it. And we'll figure this out together, okay?"
Wesley sighed deeply, feeling the weight of their support. "Yeah... together."
