THE DOORBELL RANG OUT, causing a girl who had yet to fall asleep to look outside the window.

Sluggishly lifting her head out of her scrawny hand, Hitomi saw the hydrangeas and the wind blown curtains. More than that however, she saw an over excited blond pop up behind the glass, waving around three envelopes.

A small grin cracked across the girl's chapped lips. 'Stupid Nei.'

With a chuckle and shake of her delirious head, Tomi got up from the couch and walked over to the house's entrance.

Swinging open the door that had slightly chipped white paint, she was greeted with the smug smile of her childhood best friend.

"Got your mail for ya, no need to thank me," he fanned himself with the three envelopes marked with UA's seal.

Hitomi eyed him up and down with a raised brow. "Okay great, I won't," she smirked and yanked one of them out of his hand, walking back to the couch.

A whine and head toss came from the shorter boy as he stepped in the house, closing the door.

"Ugh, you're no fun!"

She chuckled, relaxing into the sofa once more. "You're just now realizing this?"

He repeated what she said in a higher pitched mimicry way, sitting right next to her, despite having the whole couch to stretch out.

"Wow, real mature Nei," Tomi side eyed him, still holding the same humor and fondness in her tone.

While she looked at the letter, Monoma looked to her, his normal mischievous expression suddenly missing in action.

"Yeah well, you know me," he shrugged lightly, voice softer as he glanced down at his own letter.

The bright eyed boy mindlessly traced the sides with his finger, and a gentle smile that seemed to hold the weight of the world was on his lips.

"You think we got in?" he quietly asked, thinking out loud.

For most of the world, they'd never guess words like that come from the Neito Monoma's mouth, given how he presents himself. But his close circle knew of his self doubts, and he knew of theirs, like any good support system would.
