I sighed. Buddy, that's the question I've been asking myself for a while.
"Look, I dunno, Logan. It's complicated, but nothing is official. Not yet at least."
"Does that mean you might start dating in the future?" He asked, smiling.
That's a big question. Not one I'm willing to answer, tehee. I just shrugged and walked away. MAN. I lOvE fEeLiNg So MyStErIoUs AnD cOoL. I was at my locker when Taylor approached me, a massive grin splattered on her face. I know exactly what she is going to bring up. Can't I have a normal day without talking about Aiden and I?
"Hey, Ashlyn," she said as she leaned on the locker next to mine.
"HEY." I think I scared her, based on the look on her face. "Sorry, I mean-hey!"
She laughed. "Everything ok?" I nodded.
"So, you and Aiden-"
"NOPE-" I said, as I walked away. I felt bad for just leaving her like that but if all she will do is bring up that, I shouldn't.
After a few classes it was lunch. I was kind of excited to see Aiden, I don't know why, though. I walked downstairs to the cafeteria, I saw Ben walking there, too. I decided to go up to him and walk with him. At least he wouldn't bring up me and Aiden, well, he couldn't.
"Hey, Ben," I said. He smiled.
I sat down next to Aiden, who was already there. I never come before Aiden, which is surprising, knowing him. He smiled at me. Ben sat on the other side of Aiden.
"Hi," I said.
"Hi, Ashy." I always hated when he called me that, but I kind of like it now. The others got here shortly after.
"Guys!" Yelled Taylor, "How about we have a sleepover today?"
"A sleepover?" I asked.
"Yeah!"
"Okay!" Said Logan. Ben just nodded.
"Whatever." Said Tyler.
"Okay.." I said.
"We can have it at my house, in the living room. My parents aren't home."
"Shocker," I snorted. Aiden laughed lightly.
"Okay! Great! We can watch a movie, too!" Said Taylor.
Great. If I tell my parents I'm having a sleepover with my friends, they are gonna freak out. I got a text from my dad. It said:
Hey, Trooper. Me and mom are going out so we won't be able to pick you up. Maybe one of your friends can take you home?
I looked around. All of my friends were gone. Except Aiden and Ben.
"You good, Ashy?" He asked.
"Yeah, but I need a ride home."
"I can take you."
"I thought your parents weren't home?"
"I have a driver."
Of course he does.
"Okay, thanks." I hopped into the expensive Mercedes and sat next to Aiden. I texted my dad:
Aiden will take me home. Have fun with mom.
I leaned on Aiden's shoulder. I didn't even realize I was doing it, but he didn't knock me off. Ben was sitting in the front, so he couldn't see. Luckily. I don't need any more embarrassment. Didn't it feel awkward having a stranger drive you everywhere? I forgot to tell my dad I was having a sleepover, so I did it now:
By the way, we're having a sleepover at Aiden and Ben's tonight if that's okay.
He replied:
A sleepover?! That's great, your first sleepover! But only sleep next to Taylor. No boys.
I rolled my eyes and replied with:
Okay.
The driver stopped at Aiden's and as I got out of the car, Aiden lent me his hand, I grabbed it and jumped out. Ben definitely noticed.
"Are you going home? Or do you wanna come over early?" He asked. It would be nice, spending time with Aiden. And there would be nothing to do at home.
"Can I go with you? A-and Ben."
He smiled at me.
"Sure, Ashy." Aiden still hadn't let go of my hand. He held it the way inside. Ben was smiling at us. Aiden typed in the code for the house. I closed my eyes so I wouldn't see it.
"It's okay, Ashy. You don't have to close your eyes." I still didn't open them. When he opened the door to the mansion, I saw an adorable black cat laying next to the door, on the carpet.
"You have a cat?" I asked.
"Three. That one's Carrot." He replied.
I let go of Aiden's hand and bent down to the cat. I scratched him all over and he seemed to love it. Aiden and Ben looked at each other, wide eyed.
"What?" I asked.
"Carrot doesn't like people and hates being touched. He must like you." Said Aiden.
I looked back down at Carrot and smiled.
"I like him, too. Where are the other two?" I asked.
"Rose is probably sleeping in my parents room. Loki! Tst, tst!"
An orange tabby ran straight to Aiden when he heard his voice. That one must like Aiden. It purred when Aiden petted him. Of course Aiden would name him Loki. I asked anyway.
"Why's his name Loki?"
"Because he's crazy. And stupid. Haha." Said Aiden. Ben had set his bag down and walked to the kitchen to grab something.
"Haha. Sounds like you."
"Very funny."
"And this one? Why'd you name it Carrot?"
"After you. I got him only a few months ago."
"You named your cat Carrot because of me?"
"Yeah. Carrot Clark."
I laughed.
