I've seen this girl before. She hangs out with Taylor sometimes. I don't particularly like her. She's kind of annoying. I wonder how many people will call us cute on the way to our lockers. Taylor and her friend were walking with us, yapping about something I didn't listen to. I noticed Aiden put his phone away.

"Do you think you're ready to tell your parents today?" He asked. I looked down at my feet. I don't know. How would they react? I think my mom would be happy but I don't know about my dad. I shrugged.

"Maybe," I said, "I'll think about it."

"Okay." He replied.

It was a pretty normal, boring day. I know Aiden was looking at me in classes. He does that a lot. When I notice him he just waves. But it's sweet. It would probably bother me a couple months ago but it's okay, now.

I was walking down the hall with Aiden.

"Have you thought about it?" He asked.

"It's a lot easier when you're a boy, Aiden." I said.

"What do you mean?"

"My dad doesn't want me near boys. I think he got used to you being my friend. I just hope he'll be okay with it."

"It'll be fine, Ashy," he said, grabbing my hand, "Are you gonna tell them today?"

"...Okay."

I walked in my dads car after saying goodbye to Aiden.

"Bye, Ashy!" He said.

"Bye, Aiden." I replied. My dad's car window was open. I sat in the car.

"You hate when people call you Ash. But Ashy?" He said.

"Oh, yeah," I replied, "Only Aiden calls me that, though."

"And you're okay with it?"

"I'm used to it now. Besides, it's kind of nice."

I walked into the house and my mom had a huge smile on her face. What's she so happy about? I greeted Pickles and placed my bag down. I sat by the counter. It's now or never.

"Mom? Dad?" I asked.

"Yes, honey?" Said mom.

"There's something I need to tell you."

"What's up?" Said dad.

"I don't know if you've noticed but me and Aiden have gotten really..close."

My mom's smile grew as she widened her eyes. Did she see something?

"And..?" Said dad.

"Well..me and Aiden are..dating."

My mom practically had sparkles in her eyes and my dad's eyes just widened.

A long moment of silence until my dad spoke again.

"Ashlyn Clark doesn't sound too bad, does it?"
