Chapter 24
(Sakura's POV)
I had limped home because the last thing I wanted to do was get a lift from anyone in that household. I had just STOLEN their property. Something as serious as the content of this book, had no right to be in my hands. But curiosity killed the cat, and I guess this cat wants to get run over.
The front door was open and I couldn't wait to sit down. I'm pretty sure when most people get shot they don't go wondering around, trying to find their way back home. That's like a real life horror movie gone wrong. Where is the excitement in a movie where the murderer's victim can't run? You might as well make the movie less then 10 minutes long.
Making a beeline to my room, the black book seemed to get heavier as I scrutinized it for the 50th time. I'm pretty sure this is Sasuke's or else it wouldn't have been in his room. But who is the him, he keeps mentioning? There isn't much I know about Sasuke except from the little bit Itachi has told me. And I'm pretty sure he wouldn't want to talk to me if he found out I stole something of his.
John knocked on my door and I nearly peed myself in fright. I (ironically) stuffed the black book under my bed, quickly shoving my legs under the covers so he wouldn't see my wound. Ignoring the flash of hot pain I felt at the movement. I can't imagine how I would explain me getting shot anyway. Not that he would've cared...
"You didn't come home yesterday." It sounded more like an accusation than a question, so I decided to play it safe and remain quiet. "Why?" he grumbled, clearly as awkward as I was when actually trying to talk to each other. My mind was scrambled as I tried to come up with an excuse. "I was over a friends house?...". The voices mentally scuffed,
Friends?
John's eyes widened in confusion before wearily shaking his head and closing my door shut.
I guess it was hard to believe I could have friends.
Ouch.
I momentarily debated asking Naruto to hang out because of the hurt I was feeling, but decided against it.
He's been weird lately.
