Visitors For Zianna.
The nightmares stopped whenever Azhar would stay in the room with her. Zianna didnt want him to think that she was taking advantage of him.
Zianna often told him to go home and that she would be fine, but Azhar was adamant about staying with her.
"Azhar, you might be needed at the office..."
"You do realize that my uncle is the one who owns the firm, right? Plus the cases I have aren't as tough as they usually are. The parties would solve it outside the courtroom which is great for me," Azhar explained.
Zianna wanted to tell him something but was interrupted by Hayat who was at the door.
"Asalam Aleikum, can we come in?" She greeted them.
"Waleikum salaam. Yes, you can come in."
Hayat and Aayan walked inside the room, Azhar stood up and gave the chairs to them to sit down.
"How are you feeling my dear?" Aayan asks, taking a seat.
"I am fine alhamdulilah, Sir. Thank you for what you did for me."
Aayan smiled at her. "You dont have to thank me, I would do it again and again, if I had to."
"Azhar, could you please get me a cup of coffee?" Hayat asked her son.
"Sure, Mamma. What about you Dad?" He asked his father.
"I will just come with you. Because you will not remember my order," Aayan said, getting up from the chair and walking outside the room with his son following him.
"I know what you will say. To stay away from Azhar because of me he might get into trouble with his work. Don't worry, once I get better and leave this hospital. I will look for another job and I won't bother your son again," Zianna said.
This shocked Hayat as she was there with a different intention and not to tell her to stay away from Azhar.
"Habibty, I am not here to tell you that. I am not that type of person. I came to see you and to thank you for what you have been doing to my son for the time you walked inside the law firm," Hayat explained. "I am not shallow to tell a girl that my son chose for himself to leave him. I cant break my son's heart and neither can I break yours. I am here to tell you that you can always count on me for any type of advise you will need, in shaa Allah," she added.
"I...I am sorry to have judged you but Azhar and I are from different background. The people might not like it if he and I would get together..."
"My dear, my family's happiness comes first before anything. Besides, not everyone is as pure as they say. Everyone has their own burdens to carry and yet they pretend they are saints," Hayat said. "I live by what I want to teach my family. To be happy with whoever spouse they chose for them. Their happiness matters to me more than what the society thinks," she explained. "And besides, I know that my children's happiness is also mine and my husband's."
"Can I ask you something?"
Hayat nodded.
"At the Nikkah, you said that your firstborn isn't yours but he made you his mother. What did you mean?"
Hayat smiled, "He is my stepson. I met him at my best friend's wedding while I was praying. I fell in love with him and when I learned that his father's parents came home to ask for my hand in marriage. I wasn't sure about it. But as my father would tell me; "If you aren't sure about things, pray and Allah will give you the answer you are looking for." So I prayed Istikhara and I got a positive answer. Before I married my husband, Azaan started calling me Mamma. Each marriage has challenges, Zianna. But as humans, we are supposed to take on the challenges but not alone, with our spouses."
"Ma shaa Allah. I wish that Mrs. Hussein would accept me. But isn't possible for me. Mr Hussein divorced my Mamma and disowned me the same day. The sad part is that I can't hate him for what he has done to me," Zianna said as tears started to form in her eyes. "But Tayyal and Dalia became my friends, confidants but Mrs Hussein almost took that away from me. I don't know why she has so much hatred inside for me," she added, wiping her face.
Hayat moved closer to her sat beside her on her and held Zianna's hands with hers.
"My story is smilar to yours. Before I was married to my husband, I lived with my father, stepmother and stepsister. My Mamma died when I was in my last year of high school and two years later, my dad sat me down and told me that he was planning on remarrying. I knew that he needed the company, I agreed for him to remarry. After a few months later, my stepmother showed me her true colours. I was abused, mistreated but I never told dad anything because I didnt wnat him to lose the company of is wife. But I was wrong. Because one day, my husband saw her hitting me and then took me to the hospital. I begged him not to tell my father," Hayat explained, a small smile forming on her face. "He did infrom my father and we had a talk about it. I made a promise to him that I wont cover up anything that my stepmother did to me," she added.
"At least you had your father. My father wnats nothing to do with me. I am thankful that I have a brother and sister but I realize that my father was right to disown me..."
"No, he wasnt right. No child deserve that from their parents. Zianna, not everything you see is real. I have finished my story yet. My stepsister was influenced by her mother to abuse me. But one day, she came into a realization that all I wanted was a relationship with her," Hayat said. "Alhamdulilah, now we are sisters as well as friends," she added.
"Thank you, Mrs Hayat for your advice but I cant always rely on people to stand up for me. I know that my father is different from yours but I still needed him when my Mamma died. But I also know that Mrs Nadia would never accept me. In shaa Allah when I get discharged from the hospital, I will try my best to get better. And maybe even look for a different job because I dont to be a burden to Azhar..."
"I told you many times, Zianna that you will never be a burden to me. Mamma, please explain to her maybe she will listen to you," Azhar interrupts, walking into the room with his father.
Hayat looked at her son and smiled.
"Azhar, you know that Zianna has a right? Besides, you cant force her to stay where she doesn't want to. But I would advice her to think about what she will plan first before making any decision," Hayat said.
"I think your mother is right Azhar," Aayan says to his son and then turns to face Zianna. "Dont make hasty decisions based on your emotions. Stay calm and think before you decide on your future. Because you get one chance to get a bright future," he added.
Zianna knew that Azhar and his parents were right but she also knew that she couldn't always depend on people for her future.
"I understand and you are right. Thank you for your advice."
Making hasty decisions might cause you to regret a lot of things in your life. Think, pray and then do it. But remember that each decision you make can cause you to have a bright or even the worst future you could ever have.
