The Truth About Dalia.
Dalia looked at her father with confusion on her face. Unshed tears shone in Hussein's eyes, but he quickly wiped them away before Dalia could ask him.
"Dad, are you okay? Should I go and get the doctor?..."
"I am fine, alhamdulilah. Come and sit beside me, Dahlia," Hussein said, patting his hospital bed.
Dalia slowly walked toward him and took a seat. Hussein held her hands with his before looking at her.
"What I am about to tell you is important, and dont let what I tell alter how much you mean to me. And always remember you are my daughter. My little girl," Hussein says. He explained to Dahlia how he found out about her not being his daughter.
"You have a twin brother, Dahlia..."
"Yes, you told me when I was ten years old, Dad. And he was stil-born, right?" She asked. "It was when I saw a picture of two new born babies..."
"Your brother is alive, Dahlia. And your mother lied to both of us. All these years, I thought you were mine...my blood. My daughter, but you aren't my biological daughter," Hussein said, with tears falling down his face. "I found out the day I got shot by my former best friend, who is also your birth father. Your Uncle Qassim is your father. Your mother and he had an affair that resulted in you and your twin brother," he continued, still holding her hands.
Hussein could see Dahlia slowly breaking from what he had just told her.
"How could she lie to us? She even sent me away because I was getting too close to Zianna. And now, you tell me that you arent my father..."
"I am sorry, Dahlia. I wish I could turn back time and change everything just not to see cry. You are my daughter...I dont care what anyone says," Hussein says, wiping the tears on her face.
"Who is my brother? Is he someone we know?" She quietly asked, hoping that all of this was a nightmare.
"Yes, you know him. His name is Raed Qassim. He is..."
"Zoya's cousin? That's my twin brother? How could they do this to us, Dad?..."
Before Hussein could answer her, Dahlia quickly left the hospital room.
"Dahlia, stop. Dont do anything you will regret," Hussein said, before she opened the door.
Dahlia turned to face him with tears streaming down her face. She just shook her head and walked out.
Meanwhile, Tayyal was outside the room when he saw his little sister rushing out of the hospital crying. He quickly rushed toward her and held her in his arms.
"I am here, Dahlia. I am here..."
Dahlia sobbed in her brother's arms uncontrollably while Zianna and Nour watched as she broke down right in front of them.
"Why did she lie all these years? She left alone for almost ten years in a foreign place just because I wanted to get to know Zianna..."
Tayyal put his hands on both sides of her face. He slowly wiped the fallen tears.
"Dahlia, stop crying. You have us," he said, looking at his sisters. "Does it matter if she would have told you everything? What would you have done? I understand that it will be hard to see things as they are. We love you, Da,hlia, as our sister. That's because we are," he added.
Nour walked toward Dahlia and knelt before her.
"Little sister, our mother isn't someone who can be truthful about anything and everything. As Tay said, you are and will always be our little sister. If you want to get to know Raed, then do, but dont do it to despise our mother, Dahlia. Know him as your brother not as someone you would use to get back to our mother," Nour advised her. "Besides, I dont think that our father will throw you away just because you aren't his. You are his daughter, always," she added.
They led her to one of the chairs and made her sit down. Zianna took a seat and turned to face Tayyal.
"Could you get her some water, please? I need to talk to her about a few things," she asked Tay, who nodded and then left with Nour.
The two siblings understood what Zianna was trying to do.
"Dahlia, don't think that Dad will stop loving you just because of the truth. You don't have to go and confront her at this time. What I am saying is that calm down before making any type of decision," Zianna advised her. "I will always love you as you are my sister just like Nour is," she added, pulling Dahlia into her arms.
"Thank you, Zia. You are my sister too. Will you be there when I meet Raed? I dont want to alone when I officially meet him as my brother. I want my siblings to be there, to protect me," Dahlia said.
