Who Was Shot?

They all turn to see Hussein clutching his stomach, which was turning red with blood.

"Dad..." Nour yells as she goes to her father. "Don't say anything, dad. The ambulance is coming. Please stay awake, for us," she tries to get her father awake while glaring at her mother and Qassim.

"Forgive me, Nour. As your siblings to forgive me, for everything I have done to them especially Zianna. Tell her I am sorry for not being there for her when she needed me..."

"No, no, Dad. You can tell her yourself..."

Nour didnt even finish what she was saying when her brother and the EMTS rushed inside the room.

"Excuse us, miss. We need to get your father to the hospital," one of them said to Nour.

Tayyal moved his sister to his arms trying to calm her down but deep inside he couldn't be calm.

Let them take care of Dad, and then we will go with them," Tayyal said. He then turned to face his mother, who was crying while looking at Hussein being strapped, ready to go to the hospital.

"Who will follow us?"

"I..I will..." Nadia said, but when she saw her son's face, which was filled with anger, she backed down and let Nour go with her father.

"I will be with you after I am done here, Nour. Okay?" Tayyal said, promising his sister who nodded.

After Nour and the EMTS leave, Tayyal turns to his mother and shakes his head.

"Tay, I didn't shoot him..."

"Then what did you do mother? And you Uncle, what are you..." Tayyal started saying, but couldn't complete his statement when he saw his father's gun in his hands. "You shoot him, didn't you?" He asked, pointing at the gun.

"Then what did you do, mother? And you, Uncle, what are you..." Tayyal started saying, but couldn't complete his statement when he saw his father's gun in his hands. "You shot him, didnt you?" He asked, pointing at the gun.

"Tay, think about Zoya, about the baby..." Qassim tried to tell Tayyal, but didnt even bother to let him finish what he was saying.

"Did you think about her when you two...I don't even want to think about it. I will let the police handle this because right now I need to go to see my father at the hospital and to see if he is alive or not."

As soon as Tayyal walked out, the police walked inside and cuffed Qassim while Nadia watched with tears in her eyes.

"I will get the best lawyer for you. Dont talk to anyone," Nadia cautioned Qassim as the police led him to their car.

Meanwhile, Hussein and Nour arrived at the hospital but what surprised Nour was to see Azhar near the reception.

"Asalam Aleikum, what happened to Dada?" Azhar asked Nour who had tears in her eyes.

Nour tried to explain to her brother-in-law when she saw her sister Zianna walking out of the room.

"Uncle Qassim, mum and Dad were fighting and then I heard a shoot. Thats when I rushed inside and found Dad on the floor holding his stomach while Mum and Uncle Qassim standing there and holding a gun. Zia, what will happen to us if he..."

"Nour, don't say that. We should have a faith and pray that Dad will be okay, in shaa Allah," Zianna tells her.

"Zianna is right, Nour. We should have faith in Allah that Dad will get through this, " Azhar says, agreeing with his wife.

"What are you doing at the hospital, Zia? Is everything okay with your health?" Nour asked her sister.

"No, I had medical heart check up. Alhamdililah everything is going good. But for now let's focus on Dad, okay?" Zianna said.

I can't tell them just yet. I need them to be okay before anything happens to me because of my heart. In shaa Allah, everything will be okay.

After what seemed like hours, one of the doctors walked out and asked for Hussein's family.

"We are his family. Is he okay, Doctor?" Azhar asked.

"We are lucky that the bullet didnt hit major arteries but sadly your father is still not out of danger because of the blood he lost," the doctor explained to Azhar while Nour and Zianna had tears in their eyes. "We do have hope thet he will make it in shaa Allah. I will keep uyou infrom if anything changes," he added, with a small smile.

They thanked the doctor, but Nour knew that things would never be the same again after what she heard from that guy Raed.

Could he be Dahlia's brother? Did mom do that to dad...? Could Dahlia forgive our mother for what she did to her? The main question is, will Mom get charged for Dad's shooting?

Nour looked at her sister and brother-in-law with tears in her eyes. She was grateful that Zianna found someone like Azhar to be in her life. Someone who never gave up on her when her father turned his back on her.

"What should we tell Dahlia?" Nour asked Zianna. "There's alot that she needs to know about our parents especially after what I found out today," She added, confusing her sister.

As Nour was about to explain to her, she saw her mother approaching them.

She quickly got up and approached her mother with anger on her face.

"What are you doing here? You did this...You ruined our family because of your 'extra activities'. You and Uncle Qassim should be in jail," Nour yelled at her mother. "Stay away from here before I tell everyone what you did to my father and sisters. Leave before I get to jailed," she added, wiping her fallen tears.

When Nadia heard the word 'Jailed', she quickly walked out of the hospital and didnt even look back.

"I knew it. I knew that she wouldn't be there for Dad. Just as she hurt you," Nour says, turned to face her sister with tears in her eyes. My mother hurt you, and I let her do it. I let her hurt you when I should have protected you as your older sister. I am sorry from the bottom of my heart, my sister," she added.

Zianna got up and rushed to hug her sister while trying to calm her down.

"Its okay. I am happy that I have you in my life now. All we need is to pray for Dad's recovery and will you explain to me what happened to him? What happened, Nour?"

How will I explain to you, Zia, that my mother hurt your mother? Maybe even killed her. Ya Allah, give me the strength to tell her everything, and I hope she doesn't hate me.
