Sunday 12th August.
(2:00 pm)"Welcome back, Your Majesty," Idar used to hug me as I walked into Gran Gran's hospital room; we were back again to the land that caused me so much pain.
"Thank you." I grabbed a sit on the side and sat down; the flight was pretty hectic coupled with what happened yesterday. I just needed rest; all of these were stressing me out.
"Your Majesty" grace came to embrace me also. It was so funny to me how my aids and I have become close, almost like family now who would have known that this is their job and they get paid for it.
"Princess," Gran's voice was sour and shaky as she called for me.
"Ma," I removed myself from the hug as I went to sit closer to Gran Gran.
"Diana, I am sorry for all I have done." Gran Gran clutched my hands a bit tightly as she spoke.
She was not in any inherent danger; there was nothing connected to her, no fluids, no oxygen, nothing at all.
"Give us some privacy" gran gran instructed as they all began to leave slowly.
"Diana, I am sorry I wasn't of help to you and your husband yesterday; it hurts me." I am very sure she did not make the leave my honeymoon just to come back to hear a sob story.
"The deed has already been done, let's move past it." Thinking about the whole thing stresses me out even more; I would love to focus on the bright side.
"But I should have stopped your mother earlier; maybe none of this could have happened." Gran Gran was beating around the bush; I am sure she had something to tell me, but she was holding herself back.
"I would never change that; those years were the best thing a child could have ever asked for." I patted Gran Gran's hand as we spoke.
It was true; Mom was going to put me up for adoption and announce to the entire kingdom that I was dead just so she could have another baby. What a psychopath.
"I should have stopped her then when I had the chance," but you didn't, though, and I had to suffer for it, the abuse and all.
"She was so cruel to you, she opposed your coronation when you were supposed to become the crowned princess, she did not want you to leave with her in the palace while growing up and I allowed it all" she began to sob slowly, it was no news to me that my mom was not a good person, funny how this was only the things we know about I wonder what she was hiding inside of her.
"But I promise you all if this ends now," Gran said confidently, but there was little to nothing that could be done now; she had already decided what she wanted.
"It wasn't normal for the royal family to have two children as it was believed to be bad luck and also a way to set the children up for failure as one would be looked down upon by the other as they would also be compared with each other," gran said as she held my hands.
"I am not bothered by any of this; for the longest, I didn't want to be bound by a throne." It wasn't all a lie; although I did not want to be bound by the throne, I was always going to be Queen, and that was how it was nothing else.
"You know Diana, you are such a brave girl, and you would make an exceptional Queen. I know that." What was she hinting at? Do I even want to be Queen anymore?
"I am the next in line for the throne and except I step down or I..." Is she going to get me excommunicated? It was always an empty threat before it didn't seem empty anymore.
"That would not be happening," gGranassured me, but if there was something I knew about my mother, it was the fact that she doesn't play safe.
"Excuse me, Your Majesty," a nurse walked into Gran's room unannounced.
"The king is here, and he wants to come in," she bowed as she said.
"Let him in," Gran said as the nurse quickly obeyed her; although he was a terrible father and a bad ruler, he was still her son, and that was all she saw him as.
"What did the Doctors say?" I swiftly changed.
"Well, I was just stressed out." This can't be the reason why she called me to travel back from my vacation; I refuse for this to be the reason.
"So the streets were right after all; you did come back, though you were gone for good," Mom said as she walked in.
So she has been acting all these while, and there I was, thinking we were forming a new bond; little did I know.
"You promised!" Dad said putting her in order.
When was it going to end, the drama, the lies, everything? I was fed up with everything everyone in the family did.
"Well then, I would be waiting outside; it seems I am not needed here" damn right, you aren't needed at all, not my mom acting up like a teenager.
"How is your health mom?" Dad asked.
"Fine." There was a disconnect in Mom's voice; it was normal for us to pretend and act all nice and loving when people were around, but Gran Gran seemed distant from her son for the first time.
"I told you one thing: don't come with your wife, and you couldn't make my wish come true." It was never going to happen; the worst part is she did not even come to speak to Gran. I feel like she came out of spite.
"So I am not allowed to greet my mother-in-law anymore?" She popped back into the conversation, and she entered Gran Gran's room again, giving us all a break.
"Not with this attitude, no," gran gran said.
"Thanks for the visit, you may leave," gran gran said as she chased them both out of her room.
"I need rest," I said as I placed my head on her bed; I barely had any sleep the night before.
"Diana, you look tired. Do you want to go home?" What type of a child would I be if I said yes, I do need some rest, but at the same time, my gran died, needing me?
