24th August.
"Okay then where are the history books?" I asked, she seems to be very knowledgeable about what she does and I like that.
"Well the winter library holds a lot of history books that have mostly gone extinct or been banned for unknown reasons and thats why we keep them here, to ensure the success of any future Winter generation" Alexander said as she began to move deeper into the library.
"This place looks spooky" there were some dust one the shelves and I could see some spiders running around, this place smells exactly how it looks like an unkept witch house.
"My father's father and his fathers father was also the Winters secret librarian, the job has been in my family for ages and I am more than lucky to be able to witness such hidden treasure" she began telling her life's story, or family history rather.
"You said secret librarian, does it mean" I was a bit confused, the old man up stairs did know she was here so what secret is she talking about.
"Well not many know about this library andy existence, I know too much about the accused world we live in for me to ever fit in well, the library is for family members only so no one outside the Winter family has step into this section for ages, it's top secret my dear" she continued leading me to the back, there were a lot of artifacts on our way, some pots, spoons, hats and even capes.
"Many people don't know this is my job, and because I am the only one here cleaning is a bit slow" now I understood why it was dirty, she was the only one cleaning the entire place and it is relatively big but still that's not an excuse for the amount of dust and all.
"Here we are, the Winter memorial section" Alexandra said as she pointed a wall, there was a book shelf infront of it and it was half filled with books.
"The grand Winter, lived 375 years ago, although it doesn't sound like a long time ago, they have been 15 generations of Winter after him including himself" I looked at the shelf in awe.
"Here let me get it for you" Alexandra said as she noticed I was heading for the first book on the shelf.
"The books have been preserved in raisen, to make it everlasting" she said as she handed it over to me.
"Not bad" I said as my hands came in contact with the book, although ever other thing here was dirty and dusty, the boos were properly arranged and clean, it was as clean as the things upstairs.
"What language is it?" What was I expecting? It was almost 400 years old, I did not expect the grand winter to speak English.
"Ancient greek text" she said as I began to flip through the book, I did understand greek and I was fluent in as as it was a criteria for royalty to speak as much languages as they could, but still I did not understand a thing that was written here.
What a waste of my time, is that all? So I would not be able to read his book? I'm perplexed but what can I do?
"Ha your majesty, history has one upped you, well i did say i was a historian, why don't i translate it for you" it was as if she was reading my mind.
"Well thank you" I said as I handed it over to her, I would have loved to read it myself but since I can't I guess I would have to do with what she has to tell me.
"Or if you are so intrigued by it, you can learn ancient greek, we have a book for it" Alexandra suggested, but I believe that would take a while and i don't have the patience for that.
"I'll think about it" I said enthusiastically, I did not want to shun her completely, she did seem excited talking about history and all, I'm sure it has been long she conversed with anyone.
"Shall we be...?"
"Dling dling" Alexandra was interrupted but a text that came I to my phone from Lina.
"Dling dling" before I could open the first text a second one came in disrupting me, what is it?
"Hey Diane I tried calling you but your number isn't rechargeable what's going on? Anyways I heard from our chief that your mother and mine had some kind of a marriage pack incase one of them did not give birth to a male child, when you are less busy call me let's talk more" her first text read.
"And also, how are you doing? How was your journey to Okene?" Her second text read.
"Something important?" Alexandra asked as she saw me staring at my phone for a while.
"That's strange there is no network service down here" Alexandra said as another message popped up on my phone.
"Princess where are you? Hope you are okay? It has been over 3 hours, I'm worried" Grace messaged read.
This was too much information for me, I have been here for three hours? If I don't leave now what would grace think? Can I return tomorrow alone? Don't I have other things to do?
"What's bothering you princess?" Alexandra asked as I looked a bit puzzled.
"I think we've been here for too long, grace is getting suspicious" I said signifying we leave immediately, if I don't go out in an hour she would inform the royal guard and this place would be crowded with ofuland royal investors and they would find this place out, and we don't want that.
"If you say so princess" she said as she began to lead the way out.
"I would be back tomorrow" my curiosity needs to be satisfied, but has it really been that long since I got here? We barely did anything.
"Okay ma, I would be expecting you" she said continued to lead the way, this route was different from the way we came in.
And what marriage contract did they have for heavens sake? Funny how we both are girls, what a turn of events.
"This way" she said as we opened a door that lead us outside the museum, we were back to the entrance again.
"That was a turn..."
"Tunnel, isn't it cool?" She said excited.
"Let's go" she proceeded to escort me back where grace was, I forgot this was not a movie not me thinking she lived there.
"They can see you?" I thought she was supposed to be kept a secret, her moving around isn't suspicious to anyone?
"Of course, they just don't know my job"
