7th of September.
"Who are you? Stay away from the princess" gran gran asked as she came down to help me.
"I'm sorry ma" she said a she stepped back.
"It's okay" I tried to make her feel easy, gran gran was always protective of me and rightfully so. You don't know who is ready to harm you.
"Who gave you access to the palace? You don't look like a help, and who allowed you to the first floor?" Gran gran's defence system was on and rightfully so, she doesn't look like anyone I have seen before but then a gain she looks familiar.
"I am sorry ma, please forgive me your majesty" she said softly.
"What's your name?" Gran gran asked.
"Elizabeth, please forgive me your highness" she answered as she bent her head downwards.
"It's okay, it was an accident we both weren't looking at our front, it's not your fault you don't have to apologise again" I said, although she looked relatively calm, if it was a regular servant or she had pumped someone else who wasn't ready to forgive her, she could be beheaded at the market square tomorrow.
"Thank you" she continued walking as I and gran gran stood and watch her vanish.
"That's really strange, how did she get access to this floor? Who let her in? And who is letting her out?" We began walking up as Fran gran questioned the whole encounter with the stranger Elizabeth.
"Lets go to the library" gran gran grabbed my hand as we proceeded with our journey.
"Knock knock knock" she knocked at the door in a rhythmic way.
"Your majesty" a voice from inside said as footsteps leading to the door became progressively louder.
"Oh what a pleasant suprise, princess" says the older looking man who opened the door.
"Please don't stand there, come in. Be my guest" he said as he opened the door wider.
"This is Felix, the book keeper here" gran gran said as we say down on the guest chair.
"The library isn't closed to the general public but to get in here you need a lot of paper works and other stuffs, but that's not why we are here. I feel like you can learn history even from the tip of your phone, but some history are not recorded, only few knows of it's existence..." Gran gran continued her speech as I began to look around the library, compared to the Winter's secrets library this is more organised and cleaner i guess its because this is way smaller also.
"What is that?" I pointed at an oxblood looking book in the top corner of a bookshelf.
"The royals book, that belongs to the first king of ofuland" the books colour looks really familiar. Where on earth have I seen this old looking oxblood colour?
"Can I see it?" I instructed as he got up and grabbed it for me.
"Here you go princess"
I knew it, it looks too alike for it to just be a coincidence. Although it is not being preserved well as other letters from the cover has fallen off remaining the capital letter "W" it has to be it right? No 7? Is this it? Wow, I can't believe it has been here under my nose all this while.
"You know something? Have you seen it before?" Felix asked, I couldn't tell him the truth as the Winters secret library is a secret to begin with, besides I am sure they did not know about this also.
"It looks like I have seen it before, I'm sure it's just deja vu" i tired to shake their suspicions of me.
"Who is he? How did winter number 7 book needed up here? He was the first king? Thought his child was winter number 8? Is that normal?" I couldn't voice my thoughts out but I had questions, and I doubt anyone knows the answer to them. Both sides don't even know the existence of the other and their books so I have to give myself the answers I guess.
"You seem to be very interested in that book Diana, do you want to read it?" Felix the librarian said toe as he laughs softly, he was a bit relaxed about it also.
"Yes I am" I said as I tired over the first page, English? Oh yes Alexandra did say number 8 was the first English Winter book, I guess she was wrong.
"Well you can have the book princess, as long as it doesn't leave ofuland I don't mind" Felix is a bit free about this, a lot more free than Alexandra.
"When was this book written? Is he the first ever king of ofuland? Or the first one to have a journal?" I asked curiosity, I wanted to know how comes he managed to be king, does that mean WINTER'S ancestors are from ofuland?
"During the great oyo war, that was when the book was written and no, he was the first ofuland king. If it wasn't for him and his braveness we wouldn't be an independent nation today" Felix said.
"But... Did he have an heir? Who took over after him" I asked again, I wanted to know. Does that mean I am a Winter? No it can't be right? And if I am does that mean the curse of having only male children was just superstition? Clearly I am not the 16th generation right?
"Yes he did, he had a son who became the king after his father's passing. He is your 9th generation ancestor, you guess are related" this can't be, can it? Well how do I know it's his book? I mean maybe someone stole the book from them right? Who knows maybe winter number 7 was killed by my ancestor and he stole his book and his idea. That sounds like a logical answer honestly.
"Diana calm down, you look stressed out like you just saw a ghost. What's going on? Is something wrong?" Gran gran who has been quite all these while finally said something.
"I am fine gran gran, I am just ready to learn more about ofuland's history" I told gran gran.
"Well even I wasn't as excited as you are when I found this out. Take it easy on yourself, you know your dad's health isn't getting better, I don't want to loose you two" well dad was sick alright, but he doesn't look like he would be dying anytime soon.
"He would be fine gran gran, he has a lot of years to live. Just like you" I teased.
