(Lord Huron - The Night We Met)

Elisse Malfoy still couldn't believe it was true. She was unpacking her luggage in her room at Hogwarts High School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. When she was done, she left the room with the intention of getting to know her new classmates. She was walking through the common room of the Slytherin faculty. She exchanged a few words with a few when she suddenly noticed a tall, pale boy standing by the window. She approached him to get a closer look.

The boy turned his face to her and began to speak to her: "Ah, based on all the chatter when you entered the common room, I'm guessing you're the new fifth-year. I'm Ominis, Ominis Gaunt."

Ominis Gaunt? Really?" she laughed. "I'm sorry. You probably won't remember me, but we know each other. When we were little kids, we used to play together. Our families used to hang out together. I'm Elisse Malfoy."

He almost choked on his own spit in shock.*
Elisse Malfoy was here?*
He had completely forgotten about the friendship he shared with her so many years ago. He hadn't seen her since they were children...

"I almost wouldn't have recognized you if you hadn't introduced yourself by name. You've grown into a beautiful boy," she flattered him

Ominis had to force himself not to blush at her compliment. He hadn't seen the girl in years, and here she was complimenting him on his looks. He cleared his throat. "You've...grown quite beautiful yourself," he said hesitantly.

"Thank you Ominis but how could you know? I remember you were... well you know... blind". she asked uncertainly

He chuckled softly in response.
"Just because I can't see, that doesn't mean I can't tell when a girl is, well, attractive. I may not see the way everyone else does, but my other senses are heightened."

"Oh, thank you for the compliment," she answered and blushed a little. "how are you otherwise? and your brother? I assume he has already graduated." she asked curiously.

Ominis tensed slightly at the mention of his brother. It was a topic he would rather have avoided.
"My brother, Marvolo, has graduated, yes. And I, well, I'm fine. I have my good friends Sebastian and Anne, I'm doing well in my studies, I can't complain."

"I'm glad to hear that you have friends", she answered. "You know, I missed you when I left England. Even Marvolo, even though he was hurting me. I was lonely in France" she turned away her sad face.

He didn't like the way she mentioned his brother. He hated that she had such fond memories of him given all the torment he inflicted upon her.

"I..." He wasn't sure what he was supposed to say. Should he be sympathetic? He chose to soften his voice slightly, trying to sound as caring as possible.
"I imagine it's difficult to leave everything behind and start over somewhere new."

"yeah", she sighed.. "but luckily I'm back" she smiled. "I'm really glad we met again Ominis", she approached him and hugged him, pressing her head to his chest.

He stiffened again when he felt her arms around him. He was unused to physical touch from girls. After a few seconds, however, it felt... strangely comfortable, being held by Elisse. He brought his arms around her waist carefully, holding her against him.
"I'm glad as well," he murmured.

"What do we have here?" said a voice behind them. "Would you like to introduce us , Ominis?" asked the brown haired boy with freckles.

Ominis immediately looked up at the sound of Sebastian's voice. He slowly pulled away from Elisse, already feeling Sebastian's gaze burning into him. He cleared his throat.
"Sebastian, Anne, this is Elisse Malfoy. We...we used to know each other years ago," he explained cautiously.

"Hello" Elisse greeted them and noticed that Sebastian was looking at her from top to bottom with desire in his eyes, which made her blush. She looked at Anna and saw a spark of jealousy in her eyes: "Years ago? and how exactly do you know each other?" Anne asked.

Ominis could feel the tension in the air already. He could only imagine what Sebastian was thinking, and that look he was giving Elisse was making Ominis feel uncomfortable. He quickly spoke before Sebastian could say something stupid.
"We used to be friends when we were young. Our families knew each other, so we would hang out on occasion. Of course, that was all a long time ago," he said a little stiffly.

"so friends since babies. So you see each other more like siblings, don't you?" Sebastian asked hopefully.

Ominis shifted uncomfortably. What was Sebastian getting at? He didn't like how Sebastian was looking at Elisse, as if he saw her as some sort of prize to be won.
"Yes, like siblings, exactly," he replied a little too quickly.

Anne relaxed a little after Ominis' words and took Elissa's shoulder. "come Elissa, I'll introduce you to my friends." and dragged her away. "Ok, so bye" Elisse quickly swayed goodbye to Ominis and Sebastian.

Ominis exhaled heavily when Elisse was dragged away by Anne.* Sebastian immediately started bombarding Ominis with curious questions and Ominis felt annoyed already.
