( Neoni - Darkside)
Elisse didn't head back to her room. Just in case Ominis chased her and at the same time she knew there was no chance she would fall asleep after this experience. Plus, she didn't want to wake Anne and the other girls in the room with her crying. She needed to find some distraction. Some target on which to take out her anger and frustration. She decided to go to the edge of the forbidden forest and find some acromantula that could serve her. As she deliberately did not come across any, she walked deeper into the forest. Suddenly, three guys approached from three sides.
One of them mockingly spoke: "Hello beautiful, are you lost?"Elisse's blood froze in her veins. She discreetly reached for her wand. The guy didn't even wait for Elissa to answer something and continued: "Guys, today is our lucky day. We're going to have some fun today."
Without hesitation, Elisse quickly pulled out her wand and cast a stupefying spell on the guy to her left. A guy flew back and hit the ground. Elisse noticed that one was attacking her and quickly protected herself with a protego spell which deflected the spell and hit the one who cast it. The last of them was the one who said they would have fun.
She looked at him with anger in her face that she had never felt before. "You want fun? You should have it!" she shouted at him.
She felt an influx of ancient magic in her veins. When Elisse raised her hand, the man followed her movement and rose into the air. She had the power to manipulate him like a puppet. Anger clouded her mind. Without mercy, she swung down with her raised hand as if she wanted to throw an invisible stone hard on the ground. At the same time, the man's body hit the ground and he was left lying on the ground.
Elisse was breathing heavily, watching the consequences of her actions with horror.Suddenly she felt the touch of a wand on the back of her head and froze again.
" You took down three of my henchmen. Now slowly turn around!" said an unknown voice.Elisse turned carefully and a masked man in a black cloak with a hood on his head was standing in front of her. He aimed his wand at her. The man took a step forward, reached his free hand to her face and grabbed her chin. he turned her to both sides, looking carefully at her face. Then he released her and grabbed her left wrist. He rolled up her sleeve and examined her forearm. He ran his thumb over the scars she had there. Then he gently released her and took a step back. " It would be a shame for such a beauty. Today I will be merciful and let you live. And do me a favor. Go back to school and don't wander alone in the forest at night. Next time you may not be as lucky as today."
Then the man vanished into black smoke and was gone. Elisse let out a held breath. She was shaking like an aspen.
She took the mysterious wizard's advice and hurried back to school.By the time she returned to school, it was dawn on a new day. She went to the great hall for breakfast. The tables were still empty, so she just sat down at the table with her head in her hands. She was still shaken, replaying the scenario of this horrible night in her head.
Ominis had spent the entire night in a state of torment. He had barely slept a wink, Elisse's face and her heartbroken expression haunted his thoughts. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw the pain in her eyes. He knew she had misunderstood his words, but the damage was done.
With a heavy heart, he made his way to the Great Hall for breakfast, still feeling weary. He entered the room in time to see Elisse sitting at the table with her head in her hands, her shoulders slumped. Ominis had hoped to be able to mend things with Elisse, but her current state only increased his worry. He sat down beside her, noticing the exhaustion on her face.
"Elisse," he began, tentatively. "You look tired. Did you sleep at all last night?"
Elisse was pulled out of her thoughts by Ominis. She decided not to tell him about what happened when she left him. She knew he would be angry with her for taking such a risk.
Elisse just shook her head. She was afraid that she would reveal herself if she heard her shaken voice.
Ominis felt a pang of anxiety at her silence. Sensing her reluctance to speak, he reached for her hand, gently taking it in his.
"Please, Elisse," he pleaded, "talk to me. You've barely said a word since last night. I can sense something is wrong."
The doors of the Great Hall opened loudly and Sebastian and Anne entered. They sat opposite them.
They looked at Elisse and Ominis and then at each other and grinned. "Someone here had a lot of other work to do instead of sleeping." Anne said with a smile.Ominis cleared his throat and said, "I don't know what you're talking about."
Sebastian joined in the debate, "Ominis, this morning when you were changing your shirt, I noticed you had scratches on your back. Did you get attacked by a cat on night patrol?"
Sebastian and Anne burst out laughing and Anne added, "I think Elisse was there to help Ominis since she didn't come back to the room all night after sneaking out." They kept laughing. " and those circles under their eyes just confirm our theory." Sebastian added.
Elisse was in no mood for their banter. She quickly got up from the table and headed away.
Ominis immediately felt a pang of guilt at Sebastian and Anne's words. Though he couldn't see their expressions, he could already imagine Sebastian's smirk. He had hoped to avoid this situation, to avoid any more pain for Elisse.
The mention of the scratches on his back only added to his distress. He stood abruptly, the force of his movement causing the chair to scrape across the floor.
"Sebastian, Anne," he said sternly, "that's enough. Leave it."
