Chapter 11

Days passed by quickly. Simula nang pumunta kami noon ni Lucius sa shop ni madam Heidi, he's always taking me out just to road around using his car. He calls it roadtrip, where we just tour the city using a car and does nothing much else. We just buy some food then roam around. We do that for a week and at least one hour a day.

We go closer because of that. We discovered things about each other. Of course, it's not all about nice things, but we are getting used with each other even with those imperfections. And we both think that is a good thing since we will be living with each other for the rest of our lives once we got married.

Meanwhile, Lien is not very happy with that. Dahil busy rin naman si Lucius, we only do our road trips at night, thus, limiting my time with Lien.

"You're about to marry him and move out to live with him, tapos siya pa lagi mong kasama habang hindi pa kayo kasal. You don't have time for me anymore, specially when you got married." Pagdadrama ni Lien.

I rolled my eyes because of that, pero naiintindihan ko naman ang ibig niyang sabihin. And I understand that Lien really wants to be with me and thus, did what he can to spend more time with me. Noong umuwi ako sa bahay ay araw-araw na rin siyang umuuwi just to be with me kahit na nakabukod na siya nang mga panahon na iyon. He is the main reason why I adjusted easily, and I'm thankdul that he is a responsible and caring brother to me.

"Alright, then come with us. I don't think Lucius will mind you coming along." Sabi ko sa kanya.

And that's why here we are, sakay ng SUV ni Lucius dahil hindi kami kasya sa mga kotseng lagi nilang gamit dahil parehong 2-seaters lang. We've been doing this for a week but there's none of us who are complaining. It's really fun for me dahil halos kabisado ko na ang neighborhood at ilang kalye. And if we did this for a few more days ay paniguradong makakabisado ko na ang main roads ng buong city.

After our little trip ay inihatin na kami ni Lucius sa bahay. As usual, Lien opened the door for me since lagi niyang nauunahan si Lucius na siyang nagdadrive para sa amin. But Lucius don't mind dahil hindi naman siya nagrereklamo. Hmp! BS. Kapag ako, nagagalit. Pero kapag iba, hindi. Boo!

"Do you want to head in?" Tanong ko sa kanya. Well, it's just for formality dahil lagi naman siyang tumatanggi. I just asked in case he wants to rest a bit.

But to my surprise, he nodded. "Okay. I have something to talk with you too. Let me just park the car." Sabi niya bago muling pumasok sa loob ng sasakyan.

After moving his car to suitable parking space ay sumama na siya sa akin papasok sa loob. I removed my coat and handed it to the maid who was waiting for us. i also took Lucius' coat and handed it too para maisabit sa rack.

"What drinks do you want?" Tanong ko kay Lucius.

"Espresso." Sabi niya.

Bumaling ako sa maid. "Serve us espresso and hot choco, and some snacks." Sabi ko. Kaagad na tumango ito at nagpaalam.

I led Lucius to the drawing room. After closing the door ay naupo kami sa sofa. "So, what do you want to talk about?"

"I'm going to attend a charitable event the day after. It's an auction of donated art products. The profits will go to a charitable institution for children. I just want to ask if you want to attend it with me. It will be the day after tomorrow." Sabi niya.

That piqued my interest. I haven't been into a party so it really made me curious what's a party all about, but on the other hand, I don't think I'll do well socializing when I know I'm not that good with people, specially strangers. But the thing is, it is also an auction. I have an idea what an auction is dahil sa information na lumalabas sa utak ko, but I don't really know what it is. I can't explain. It's like meeting someone you know the face, but not their personality.
