Chapter 12

When Pandora finally calmed down ay kaagad na sumingit si Cason.

"Dora, talk to Solana later about those things. We're in public." Mahina niyang sabi. Pandora reluctantly agreed and let me go.

It's a bit awkward on the table dahil sa maliit na drama na nangyari, but it was immediately recovered nang sinimulan akong kausapin ng isang lalaki na malapit sa akin. Soon, the others followed. Some of them are not really assigned on that table at lipat din kagaya ko, so they're around our age. Maybe because of that kaya hindi puro business ang pinag-uusapan nila. Although I don't know some topics dahil about iyon sa mga tao at events, it still pique my interest kaya nakikinig ako. I'm also able to chime in once in a while so I'm not out of place.

There are more people that approached the table. Some lingers for a short time, and some stayed longer. I met a few people too. Although I can't remember all of their names, there are some that has unique personality that is hard to forget.

"Excuse me, I'm here to fetch Solana."

The people on our table stopped laughing when a baritone voice spoke. Nang nilingon ko ito ay nakita ko si Lucius. Akala siguro nila ay galit ito dahil hindi nakangiti, but I'm already used to it. It's just his natural facial expression. But I can't blame them dahil intimidating naman talagang tingnan si Lucius lalo na kapag hindi ka sanay sa kanya.

"But I'm still talking to them." Reklamo ko sa kanya.

Lucius looked at me and leaned down. "Stop pouting. The auction will start in a few minutes. We need to get back on our assigned table." Bulong niya.

I glanced at the mini stage. There a re a few people near it and setting some things. Wala akong nagawa kung hindi ang tumayo. Baka hindi rin kasi makabalik sa upuan nila ang mga nakaassign sa seat na iyon dahil may mga nakaupo.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I need to go now. Nice to meet all of you." Nakangiting sabi ko sa kanila. They didn't try to stop me and bid goodbye. I also did separated farewell to Pandora and Cason before leaving. There's a strange look on Pandora's face, as if she doesn't want to let me leave, but didn't stop me.

Bumalik na kami sa aming assigned seats. The used plates area already gone. Instead, there are a few plates of snacks and drinks.

The real event started in a while. The organizer gave a short speech before he passed the microphone to a woman. The woman is the head of the orphanage where the gathered funds will go. She gave a few information about that orphanage and what things the funds will be spend. Of course, it is only one of the organization the funds will go to.

A series of applause was heard as the mic was passed to the organizer again. And the auction starts.

The first item came. The organizer named the item and told a brief description and history of it. He also named the donor and thanked him. Then, after naming the initial price, the bidding start.

"Do you like that?" Bulong sa akin ni Lucius.

I looked at the auctioned item. It's a painting. It looks beautiful but I don't really like it that much.

"No."

Lucius stared at me before nodding. "Okay. Tell me if something caught your eye. I'll buy it for you." Sabi niya.

I tilted my head. "Why?"

"Well, you are my fiancee. I can buy things for you as a gift." Sabi niya.

Hmm, well it would be bad if we don't buy things since the purpose of coming here is to spend money as donation. Tumango ako sa kanya. "Okay."
