The following remaining days in the beach house were awkward, to say the least.
Kyle and Cartman's quickie had left a confusing spot on what they were, and Kyle had a complicated situationship with Stan already. Kyle and Cartman tried avoiding each other or not mentioning it.
The weekend following spring break, the school returned back home to their families. Cartman couldn't help but feel confused about what happened with Kyle. He checked his phone that following Saturday night and was surprised to have received no texts or calls.
Kyle, on the other hand, regretted that night. He was drunk, and wanted to be with Stan, but didn't want to make things awkward at the same time.
The following school week after spring break was interesting. Cartman was confused why Kyle didn't text him after or even call, and spent all night confused. Meanwhile, Kyle couldn't care less. He was too concerned about Stan and his grade to worry about Cartman.
Cartman walked up to Kyle that following morning at his locker.
"Hey, Jew."
Kyle closed his locker and noticed Cartman. "Hey? What do you want?..." He asks as Cartman shrugs. "I don't know, don't you wanna talk?"
"...About what?" Kyle asks. "If this is about that night, I'd rather not talk about it. It was a mistake and I was drunk."
"Are you serious?" Cartman asks. Kyle frowned. "Look, we can talk about it tonight. I'll let you know before hand and pick you up."
Cartman nods. "Alright, I guess." he says as Kyle walks away, heading to class.
Stan saw him and walked up to him. "Hey, Kyle!" Stan said, walking to their class together. Cartman rolled his eyes and walked off to the school library, skipping his first class period.
He wasn't there to study, but he didn't wanna be in class. He was confused, and a little annoyed and whatever was going on with him and Kyle. He went to a study table to sit by himself and pulled out his laptop to start his "investigation."
He didn't know what to investigate really. All he knew was that he was gonna figure out exactly why Kyle was ignoring him and acting like nothing happened. His first attempt was the internet. Not anything interesting on there. A search into Kyle's name and all he saw were his basketball achievements, some school stuff, and his family's events. That wasn't much info to look into.
Cartman thought to himself. "Kyle has gym next period." A perfect excuse to go into the locker room while the class is busy and see if Kyle left his phone in his. Surely his phone must have some clues or answers.
He opened back his laptop and was thinking what more he can do. Surely he can get something out of Butters? Butters must know, everybody trusts him.
He whipped out his phone and texted Butters.
...
CARTMAN: hey.
BUTTERS: Hi Eric :) How are you?
CARTMAN: feeling down. if u could answer a few questions for me i might feel better.
BUTTERS: I can in a bit. Where are you? I finished my test so I'm out of class early :) Very easy to complete!!
CARTMAN: meet me in the library at the study tables.
...
Butters walked into the library and sat next to Eric. "What did you wanna talk about?" Butters asks, setting his backpack down.
"What do you know about Kyle?"
"Huh?" Butters asks confused. "What do you mean?"
"You know, like has anything recently changed with him?"
